All my mga kaibigan says that anime are only for kids. Do you agree?

I disagree. People who say ridiculous things like this about anime haven't even really watched it, and that bugs me. The variety of anime types is incredibly vast, so, of course, there are certain anime series out there that are aimed at younger crowds; however, it is also true that there are anime series aimed at all other ages. There are actually more series intended for teenage & adult fans than for the younger ones. For the most part, Japanese anime are made with madami complex plots and concepts than cartoons from other places of the world, a lot to which children wouldn't understand. Tokyo Mew Mew might apply to your friends' argument, but until your find someone under 8 years old who can fully understand the concept and the message of Death Note or Puella Magi Madoka Magica, I stand sa pamamagitan ng my theory with confidence. Not all American cartoons are for children, either (ex: Family Guy, American Dad), nor are all Japanese cartoons (anime). Many anime series are also not appropriate to ipakita to children. It would be unacceptable for them to watch something like Elfen Lied or to-LOVE-ru. Anime is for all ages. There is every kind of anime you can think of, and I guarantee that anyone can like at least ONE.

Absolutely not. There are a great many anime out there that I believe appeal to a wide range of interests and ages.

i know why ur saying this....bcz i have the same experince too....my mga kaibigan about 90% dnt watch anime..and they always tease me sa pamamagitan ng calling kid..bcz i watch animes..........they say animes r for kids........i disagree to them 100%

Of course not. Anime is for anyone, regardless of their age (Although some anime shows are quite mature). matters if you actually like it or not.

It depends...some any are for kids...but some are most definately not...But I can understand you, only my best friend loves anime and understands...The other won't peak on me but they might call me weird, childish etc...Just tell them to watch Elfen Lied or Higurashi and then come back an say that anime is for kids X)

One of the miraculous things about anime is that they can get away with gore, violence, sex, and all that scary stuff western animation can't have. And if anime didn't have violence, we wouldn't have awesome stuff like Baccano and Evangelion.
Yeah, anime audiences are definitely not treated like kids, thankfully.

There are a lot of disturbing anime I would never even consider letting a child watch though.

Hell nah. I have a 19 taon old brother whos been watching Anime since he was 15 and he still loves it. People who say that are just low lives who wont give anything a try. And besides Anime has some very sexual stuff in it...so no its not for kids!!!!
