Falcon & Scarlet Witch Hunt Down Crossbones In New \'Captain America: Civil War\' Clip
There's less than a month to go until the Marvel Cinematic Universe is changed forever with the release of Captain America: Civil War. We've been promised
major character deaths, shocking twists, and a "controversial ending" that is sure to spark fan debates for the next few years.
With every new piece of footage we get, there are tons of clues hidden inside. And today's offering is no different. The MTV Awards unveiled a brand new clip from Civil War, and it's pretty darn exciting. Check it out!
Expanding on a scene we caught a glimpse of in the first trailer, this clip seems to come from the beginning of the movie, as Cap, Falcon, and Scarlet Witch battle hostiles. But where are they, and who are they hunting down?
Remember Brock Rumlow from Captain America: The Winter Soldier? He's the S.H.I.E.L.D./Hydra agent who worked with Cap, only to turn around and betray him when Hydra's plan came to fruition. The Winter Soldier didn't end so well for Rumlow, and he suffered serious injuries in the final battle.
Of course, Marvel comics fans knew Rumlow wouldn't be out of the game for long: he's better known as the villain Crossbones. He's officially causing havoc again in
Civil War, as Cap and the team hunt Crossbones down in the new clip.
Rumlow seems to be hiding in the IFID, or Institute For Infectious Diseases, which is Marvel's answer to the CDC (Center for Disease Control).
Is Rumlow planning some kind of biological warfare? That could explain this line from Wanda:
We still have no idea how the IFID feeds into the wider plot of
Civil War, but it's safe to say that they don't apprehend Rumlow in this scene. Later on, we see Crossbones and Captain America going head to head, in an entirely different location.
This seems to take place in an African market, where some key scenes in Civil War were rumored to be set. It's possible that this is the international incident that acts as a catalyst for the Sokovia Accords to come into effect, as the US Government come under more pressure to bring the Avengers under control. But that's not all we spotted in the clip!
Scarlet Witch, Falcon & Redwing Leap Into Action
In the comics, Redwing is a hawk that Falcon has a telepathic connection with. In the MCU however, Redwing is the name of a drone, and we saw it in action in this clip.
It's pretty neat, scanning the IFID to locate Rumlow. And while we're talking about Falcon, can we just appreciate his awesome moves in this clip? Because wow.

Marvel \'Bitches\' V DC Battle Triggered By The Rock Dressed As Superman On MTV Awards
Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart try to start a Marvel v DC battle dressed up as Batman and Superman at the MTV awards.
The new Avengers seem to be working really well together. Wanda especially has really taken to life as a hero, using her powers to fly, levitate Cap, and shield herself from bullets.
Scarlet Witch is a fully fledged Avenger now.
After the clip, we also got a montage of more footage from
Civil War, most of which we'd already seen in the trailers. But there was something that stood out.
We've seen snippets of the scene on the helipad, as Steve tries to prevent a helicopter from taking off, only to be stopped by a hail of bullets. And now it seems like Iron Man is the one to fire at him.
Of course, Marvel is no stranger to creating an illusion by cutting together footage. It could be that the shot of Iron Man is taken from another scene, and he's not actually shooting at Steve. Having said that, the lighting and location do look like they're from the same scene. We'll just have to wait until the movie is released to find out!
