What proof do you have that homosexuality is a sin?

On this site and in my own catholic/Christian community many people seem to have very strong beliefs (notice I sinabi beliefs) about homosexuality and its immorality. What I don't understand is how people an just assume that. Can someone give me a clear statement from the bible that says its wrong? And no I'm not looking for an answer like "go well God created man and women so there you go" I guess it's just fristrating when people say its wrong an have no proof to back it up.

These are the verses I found. Also, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because they attempted to have intercourse with men (angels in disguise) who were visiting Lot.

I think God means having sexual relations with the same gender is unnatural and unlawful, and He didn't make us in that way. If this wasn't the case, I suppose God would've made Adam and Eve with both sexual organs, and would've created one gender. That's kinda gross to think about though, Lol. xD

there's a difference between loving someone and having intercourse ( even though that's a part of love). there's nothing in the bible that says " no" to loving someone, regardless of the gender.

A relationship without intimacy is nothing, i.e. close contact, kissing. It is not limited to sexual intercourse: "In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another." [Romans 1:26] A natural relationship with a women is not just sexual, it includes closeness and intimacy too. Swapping that pag-ibig with the same gender is something that God doesn't want us to do. Also, even skin contact (like holding hands or hugging) can lead to lust for some people, which invades your mind. If sexual relations with the same gender are unlawful, then we shouldn't even be thinking about them, rather than reminding ourselves of our desires. Being attracted to the same gender, or falling in pag-ibig with the same gender is nobody's fault and I don't think it's wrong, but it should stop there. It's a test from God.

I guess my problem with those verses are that they were written sa pamamagitan ng people living in a conservative Jewish community where being gay wasn't socially acceptable. I mean it's not like God just came out and said." being gay is wrong!" ru have to take into consideration when where and sa pamamagitan ng who that was written. God forgives an doesn't command people to be put to death so I have to assume it was not sinabi sa pamamagitan ng God. But your answer was really great and thankyou for the verses

The Bible (HIS WORD) is GOD breathed, also, inspired sa pamamagitan ng GOD (HE leads them to write it down). So yes, I believe, and have faith that GOD wrote every single Word in THE WORD. Some try to get around it for tolerance or their own interpretation, but it's pretty clear from my perspective. Yes GOD forgives, but if u truly invite GOD into your life, & let HIM be your LIFE, then that means asking for forgiveness. He doesn't automatically forgive, since u have to ask for it & mean it (which I'm sure u all know). The problem with the lust/love of homosexuality is, they see nothing wrong with those thoughts/acts, thus not asking for forgiveness, whereas, if I lie or use a curse word (which is just as bad, as listed in 1 Corinthians 6:10), then I ask for forgiveness, & HIS STRENGTH (FOR HE IS STRENGTH) to turn away from sinabi sin. I'm not perfect at all. I do mess up at least once or madami a day. Hesus still loves me. HE even befriended tax collectors. I don't hate homosexuals. I have family members who're homosexual/bisexual, but I have prayed & still pag-ibig them no matter what. GOD doesn't want us to choose the wrong way. HE still loves us no matter what, but it doesn't give us a license to go out & intentionally sin either. pag-ibig IS GOD, GOD IS LOVE, not hate. pag-ibig THE SINNER, hate the sin. Period.
