I like her much, much less than I used to.


The views that have helped shape my personal list haven't changed at all. They were set by my inward morals. The internet has only made me aware that the Classics and Renaissance are to be hated. Fanpop has made me keenly aware that Ariel could be hated to the "nth" degree, with literally "nothing good" said about her ever.

This probably decreased my like of Merida, who actually was the one who was more immature overall, and it has greatly decreased my respect for the Modern Era princesses entirely.

Whisper's recent poll was sort of balm for me. Cinderella was back to being loved, as were some of the least loved princesses in this club: Ariel and Aurora.

I do think Ariel's popularity off of Fanpop is well deserved, because she has been enduring, hopeful, caring, and fun, and most of her modern contemporaries have emerged as rude, cutthroat, and desensitized to other people's pain.

Before I join Fanpop she's nothing special on my mind. I previously think she don't really deserved to be a DP. But as most peoples here adores her, I changed my mind.

^^^I see plenty of love for Ariel here. Many who don't have strong opinions.

Anyway, I hate to admit it, but I didn't like Snow White before Fanpop very much. Not going to go into detail, but let's just say it had to do with 'needing a man' and 'annoying voice'.
These opinions have changed a lot, mostly because of this site, and re-watching the movie.

^Actually, there are way more critical comments made about Ariel than the positive variety. No offense, but you've been off of here a while.

Think of this. . .
Someone was trying to kill her. Someone wanted her dead. But she prays that God will bless the men who are helping her. She didn't pray that God will help her and save her. She thanked God for these men. She cooked for them. She cared for them. Because that's all she had to offer. She didn't just stay there and lounge around because she's a princess and she probably could have. She cleaned their house in thanks even before she met them. No one will ever surpass Belle as my favorite but Snow White is definitely second. Despite what people think, I think she's actually a very good role model for young girls and women alike.
