Not only is she the first black princess, but has no sense of adventure, extremely serious, and her only thought is about doing well in business, which has not and is not the case for any other princess. It's still a big thing. Also her personality - the first 'fiery' Princess (people may argue that Ariel was this but I'd say she was more sweet/bubbly).
