I've seen a lot of polls and countdowns about which Disney Princess is the best role model, but I haven't seen one for the guys yet, so I decided to do a countdown for them.

I know that Flynn is probably gonna leave this round, and I actually voted for John Smith last round, but I actually hope neither of them leave. I mean, both of them have problems (Flynn's stealing and John Smith's bigotry), but they're resolved by the end, and they also sacrifice their lives to save someone else, which I think makes them decent role models. Prince Charming, on the other hand, doesn't really do anything. I'm not saying he's a bad role model, because he isn't, but he just delegates everything to his servants instead of doing it himself and is also kinda rude (yawning from boredom at the ball).

Anti-social, hates people, is rude, says that he'd be able to live with it if Anna died and only agreed to help her because he wouldn't get his new sled if he was dead, is absolutely GROSS, and is an asshole. A very bad role model for boys because he only shows that men are inferior to women.

I think he is what most haters view Elsa like.Hates people,selfish,anti-social,and overall just a really antagonistic person.It's their opinion I know. I just think Kristoff is that person instead of Elsa which is in my opinion pretty selfless. Don't get me wrong I don't dislike Kristoff since he does develop to be a better person.He's just not my idea of a prefect role model.

I actually can't believe people vote on John Smith. While I know there are few problems with his character (especially on the beginning), at the end he is the great role model especially for young boys, as he is not only against racism, but also against pointless fight and use of weapon.

Heh. His bad body odor aside, he is misogynistic, rude, condescending, and extremely judgmental. Definitely not good role model material for boys or anyone else, for that matter.

Yeah he is gross and judgmental. He is protective though, but eh it doesn't make up for him being unhygienic, disgusting, and at times, rude

While he has a touching backstory he still is a criminal.

whoa now, he can be a jerk but he doesn't hate women at all. someone who hated women would definitely not help save one or fall in love with one that way.

and why is Charming a jerk for yawning when we praise Jasmine for showing violence and rude behavior to her suitors without even knowing them? He and John deserve to go before a criminal? this should be about bad role models, not necessarily ones who do annoying things (otherwise this poll would be way different).

Definitely John Smith! Not just for the bigotry but there's a song at the beginning that straight up talks about his reputation for killing Indians! Whatever Kristoff's flaws are -- and there are many -- at least he's not a killer.

@AudreyFreak: I... don't praise Jasmine for that? At all. It's actually one of the reasons she's not as high on my list as she could be.

And I would have voted for Flynn or possibly John in this round, but they actually sacrifice or nearly sacrifice their lives to save someone else, which is pretty admirable. (Especially John, since he wasn't even saving his love interest.) And Flynn does steal, but that's not portrayed as good. He has a developmental arc in that he starts off constructing some whole "dashing thief" persona and is pretty selfish (wanting nothing more than an island and a ton of money), but at the end was willing to sacrifice his life and says himself in the ending narration that he stopped with the phony persona and "stopped thieving and turned it all around," which imo implies that it's because of this that he has his happy ending. And I don't really think there are any aspects of his actual character that are bad, which is more important to me when thinking about role models. His only problem is that he's a thief, and possibly his whole fake persona thing, but both of those things are resolved at the end and portrayed as unhealthy.

As UnholyNoise mentioned, he is a killer. And a racist bigot. Personally I think he should win hands down. None of the other princes have literally killed people.

^ You know, I actually forgot about that. I think I'll change my vote, even though I still don't think Charming is that great a role model.

^ But he then takes a bullet for an Indian chief. He could have been killed himself. If we're gonna say that Flynn was redeemed by his selfless act, I would say you would have to admit the same for John.

^ Eh, my logic is that stealing =/= murder.

^^ to me, it doesn't cancel out that other stuff. not to mention all the princes are redeemed of their flaws in some way at the end, (or they're not developed enough to have any real flaws, like prince charming) and if we can't count John Smith's against him, then we have to do the same with all the others and not count Kristoff's insensitivity, the Beast's temper, Flynn's criminal past, etc. against them.
