How did you get into Dungeons & Dragons?

i got into it through my dad. My dad is an even bigger nerd than me, hes involved with wargame magazines,etc.
He even is Pagsulat his own novel as well has his own D&D rules published, if anyone wants anymore information i'd be glad to help just message me :)

My friend invited me to a D&D session in which he was the DM. I was so nervous leading up to the event, because I had practically no prior knowledge of the game and I'm very socially awkward (I knew I was going to be playing with strangers, aside from my friend). It actually turned out to be really fun and I really wanted to play again.
