Game of Thrones cast members give interviews on the Red Carpet 

Before the SAG Awards ceremony last night, cast members of

hit the Red Carpet for some entertaining (though not exactly spoiler-heavy) interviews.

Sophie Turner and Hannah Murray answered some #SmartGirlsAsk questions tweeted from fans. Turner spoke of the impact her mum has had on her life.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau discussed the possibility of a gradual Monty Python-esque dismemberment for Jaime.

Michiel Huisman also addressed the high-turn over rate for cast members, saying, “You’re always worried you’re going to die because that’s, you know, kind of what happens on our show.” He also promised a “bigger and better” show next season.

There were rumours from time to time about Kit/Emilia. So they asked her, but it’s a ridiculous question to begin with. Even more so on the red carpet of SAG Awards. Their only luck was that Emilia is so polite to answer. Lovely dress much like Sophie.

I am with Gwendoline on that,I think GOT should have won the award based on the sheer number of cast members alone. Coordinating multiple locations with 350 plus actors,spread across 3-4 countries is no small feat. Happy about the stunt award win though,much deserved.

I just love everyone on Game of Thrones. All of them are such a good actors and always so nice and humble in interviews (except the Dothraki one a few days ago).

The Kit/Emilia stuff was always fan wishful thinking. It’s like people who won’t let go that DiCaprio and Winslet have never and will never be a couple. As far as anyone knows, Kit’s been on/off/on again with Rose Leslie.

Chilli: Sophie has too much make-up on her eyes, but the dress is very beautiful.

Far be it from me to critique a woman’s make up, but I find this to be a problem with Sophie (or, whoever’s doing her makeup for events). They absolutely don’t need to put all that on her (Yes, I know some of it is because of the lights). It’s too intense and unnecessary. Sophie Instagrammed a picture of herself the other day with seemingly little to no make up and she actually looks like who she is: a 19 year old.

It’s not an unreasonable idea for a grown woman to wear as much goddamn eye makeup as she wants. Just my two cents….

I don’t think the quantity of makeup Sophie is wearing is a problem. And I am a woman. I think it’s the application which makes her look like a three pack per day smoker.

I don’t dispute her right to wear as much makeup as she chooses. She can set her makeup gun to circus clown if she wants. Her choice. But that doesn’t change the fact that she looks old and tired in these photos.

To me, we never really know what was happening until we see season 6….

The very fact you use make-up in the first place indicates that you’re not “grown”. Face-painting is for children. You put on make-up to mask your insecurities about your appearance or to call attention to it. There’s nothing admirable or respectable about that. You’re also failing to accept the natural state of things, ie your face as it is, and aging. That’s the last thing a “grown” woman would be interested in. Sophie shows that she is still an immature teenager by flaunting herself visually to attract attention. It’s neither good nor bad, but it’s certainly not a mark of maturity.

So we know that Sansa has a good vibe season. And however it is GoT and everything is ‘bittersweet’ I assume Rickon survives season 6. The Starks will not have major loses, but I think we will see Rickon die at the beginning of season 6 (hope, hope, hope)

Also we will Jon Snow quickly to be alive. I think ep 2.

And Daario…he will be dead this season I think. His storyline is over when he finds the Mother of Dragons. Maybe he will rule Mareen in name of Daenerys and we see him late in season 7 or 8. But I don’t think so.

Beautiful cast. Kudos to them for going, but getting shunned again in the ensemble category is laughable. We all know they are the strongest cast on TV.

But the other actors pictured don’t look like melted ghosts. They look fine. Sophie looks fine too. I don’t know if it’s the way her eyebrows are sculpted, but she seems to have a lot of real estate between her eyes and her brows – wearing bold make up there has the effect of making her eyes look smaller than they actually are.

Sophie looks gorgeous, as usual. It would be great if people could refrain from nitpicking every tiny, minute aspect of a teenage girl’s appearance for once. (Or is that just too deeply ingrained in our society?)

Sophie is 19 years old. She’s having fun and experimenting with makeup and fashion, and there is nothing wrong with that. And any woman, at any age, has the right to wear and look however she damn well pleases without being verbally dismantled piece by piece, or facing accusations of insecurity and immaturity.

Use it away the next time someone annoys the crap out of you. It’s the line I use whenever I’m subjected to a mansplain of something. I also pat a forearm reassuringly.

Personally I care very little about fashion or makeup. But, I wear it and dress for the occasion when it’s socially correct to do so. When it’s not I don’t bother.

Now I’m not a fan of all the Jon/Dany theories out there. I’d rather it not go in that direction. But if Daario dies this season, to me it’s a give away or at the very least a real solid piece of evidence that the Jon/Dany theories may in fact turn out accurate. With perhaps as little as only 2 seasons left, they’re running out of time for each of these characters to get a new lover that isn’t the other. Dany is probably on her way to Westeros by seasons end, and with Val already omitted, is Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen really going to end this story never meeting? Are both of the two major male/female protagonists going to end the final 2 seasons and perhaps the final 2 books as single? I’d say I find that difficult to believe.

Agree. I was expecting Daario to die last season on the show for that reason. That was before the 8 seasons information came out. Now Dany would have enough time to appear to get over Daario.

Not sure why you got upset. It’s a trivial thing imo. Well, I’m 32 and actually need makeup at this point lol but I do think back and wonder why I spent the time on it from aged 13 up till my twenties when a girl doesn’t even need much at that age. Good mascara, colored lip gloss and blotting powder would have been all I needed instead of messing with the heavy eyeliner, shadows, blush, etc. because looking back at old pics, my friends and I looked fresher and prettier in the ones where we weren’t wearing all the paint

Just watched all the interviews and got to say Emilia is a natural and seems so comfortable being interviewed. Personally I’d end up being more like Nickolaj who came off a bit quiet and nervous lol. He seems like such a nice guy though

Wish we’d heard something from Kit and even John Bradley. They spoke of Star Wars with Gwendolyn I thought maybe Kit would get asked about his coming project.

Yes ofcourse. Don’t get me wrong: I hope it too. But the storyline of Jorah and Daario is to find Daenerys. After that, there is a gab. They can find a new storyline. Jorah will leave, send on a mission and because of his grey scale.

Daario will go with her to Mareen, to bring her home. And that is it. Maybe he is one of the Harpies, but why he didn’t killed he earlier? I actually think Sophie’s make up looks amazing (especially her eyes). As for why you did that as a 13 year old – because it was fun! Hey look, I’m not consistent in my own habits (some days I just can’t be assed) but I love makeup. So many pretty colours, so little time.

Thinking back, it totally was fun experimenting with makeup, I agree. But these days it’s more of a chore, cause I’m a lazy ass in the mornings

I do think Sophie looked beautiful. From the quick glance I had her makeup didn’t stand out to me as over done.

GoT cast is sooooo beautiful and fresh. I loved the colors the girls wore. Hanah, Emilia,Gwen, Maisie, Carice and Sophie were so beautiful. NCW and Kit two gorgeous guys… and all the othe cast..i don’t think any show has a better cast. I never get bored of them… too bad we didn’t get a group photo. I wish them to have a great season 6, with huge ratings…so we can see more of them next year in awards season.

I also used to wear a lot of make-up when I was 19 (and some years after). I remember my father, God rest his soul, once asking me: “Is the circus back in town?” He was a good father, but never knew how to talk to me. It’s interesting how our tastes change when we grow up/ older. I smile when I remember myself with long blonde hair, too much make-up, high heels, long skirts. Now, in my 40s, I wear pants, boots, no make-up, I have short chesnut hair. Only the choice of jewellery – absent or big, hippy style, depending on the occasion – is the same.

But I do like beautiful make-up, the one skillfully done, which enhances beauty – Seven Hells, I like make-up also on rockers and Khal Drogo! I love how make-up suits the beautiful ladies in GOT, it’s a pleasure to see pictures from events.

Emilia Clarke is such a pro. She handles the irrelevant questions superbly. Just gives them a joke and a bit of fluff, along with a winning, sincere smile. Gwendolene, too, has such a great sense of humour – though i would love to see a proper interview with her because you just know she has got heaps to say about her art.

Look, everyone’s entitled to their opinion. Thing is, and someone said it I previous comments, we’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t. She should be able to wear all makeup or none and not be judged for it but that’s not the reality were living in, I suppose. Aww yeah my dad said the same kinds of things. He wouldn’t let me out with a skirt more than 2 inches above the knees etc. so of course I’d change into a mini dress and do makeup at a friend’s house

I too rocked the bleached blonde hair for awhile. Toned it once with strawberry blonde shade and

it. But for some reason after I became pregnant blonde looked terrible on me, and also my eye color changed from blue/gray to green. Weird! As for the women of GOT and makeup, one can look at Hannah, for instance. There are many on social media commenting they didn’t recognize her and didn’t know she was so pretty lol. Probably some of those guys are the same ones who tell us women we don’t need to paint our faces Lol.

But Lyanna, many of us judge what they wore, their hair, and how well they did with the interview questions, so if someone gives an opinion on the makeup I just don’t see how that’s any different? Just trying to understand

Everyone is free to their opinion! I didn’t say anyone was wrong, I just know what it’s like to try to conform to standards and still not please everyone. Which is why I quit doing it. These girls are smart, I’m sure (I hope) they know they are worthy, with or without the bells and whistles. But if they wanna wear bells and whistles, that’s okay, too!

imagine this …….For the first scene in season 6 it’s dark …see someone is dragging jon’s body ….There is fire shouting total chaos around. ..Some men of the night’s watch attack the wildings and some wildlings are dying some are gathering weapons. .wun wun is getting really mad. …While all that is happening. ..Davos is arguing with Mel. ..and we see its ed who is dragging Jon’s body. ..trying to decide what to do.

I got a few goosebumps. There are endless possibilities! We’re so in the dark and left hanging. I hate (but in a love to hate kind of way!) those guys for doing this to us lol. This site is going to see so much traffic on the night of April 24th!

Daario gave her good advices and told her things as they are. Daario could’ve betrayed Daeny thousand times, but no Harpy connection. I want Tyrion, Jorah and Daario to make it to Westeros, but Daario is one of the expendable.

Not fan of this relationship at all, but sadly it is going that direction either way. Daario dead or alive. But let’s hope this is not the ending to this amazing series. Before that Melisandre is in the picture and for all we know she might be his lover for some time. Martells might offer Daeny alliance with Daeny/Trystane as duo on the iron throne.

I love these brief bits from the actors. I love every one of them. Shame on you all for saying Sofie is stoned. She seems to obviously have a cold, and probably some jetlag too, and lack of sleep, and she has those naturally heavy eyelids too. Play nice kids. As for Kit and Rose dating I think it is very cute. But methinks they are distant cousins, to each other and me. I have both surnames, Leslie and Harington on both (Mom and Dad) sides of my family tree. Party on my pretties. Can’t wait for Season 6!

If I remember the scene at Hardhome properly, Jon and Tormund were standing on the shores, loading the boats and Jon said 5000 people, we’re not saving enough. It was always my understanding that he brought 5000 wildings back. I know someone will clear it up if I’m wrong, but that’s my take on it. So, more than enough to make paste out of all 50 of the remaining NW.

I love these pictures of the cast members, I think they all looked wonderful – but where’s a pic of Maisie on this thread? I thought she looked great as well.

I taped & watched both the red carpet and the whole rewards show, and was disappointed to see only a brief showing of the table where the cast members sat just before the “Best Ensemble” award was given. Downton Abbey?! Arrrggh, I mean I watch the show, and it’s good, but I think the cast of GoT show their merit in such a wide scope of scenes, situations and emotions. Situations far more dramatic than many on Downton.) I was glad to get a glimpse of Kit, but it was fleeting. Maybe I fast- forwarded too much.

And to the guy upthread who said some shit about wearing makeup – are you kidding? I mean, really.

A lot of those 5000 people are women,old men or children who can’t fight though . I know the wildlings have female warriors too but i’m willing to bet most of them died at Hardhome like Karsi .

Yes! This! I told myself a while back we wouldn’t get the trailer until the Vinyl premiere.

If we got it earlier, I was going to be very surprised and incredibly happy, but I haven’t expected anything before the 14th.

However, after trying to be patient until then, if we don’t get it during the Vinyl premiere, hell yes we riot!!!

Speaking of Maesters, one of the children I teach is named Aemon (spelled differently, but pronounced like Aemon). We had a huge tournament over the weekend, and in preparation, I kind of recreated what happens at the tournaments, so those who hadn’t competed before knew what to expect. Part of it is how to respond when they hear their name called, so I was calling everyone up by their first and last names. I was particularly tired one day, so, instead of calling him by his real last name, I said, very loudly, “Aemon Targaryen.” Of course, none of the kids got it, but a couple of the parents heard me and had a great laugh.

I had a good laugh the instant I realized what I’d done. The students I work with range in age anywhere from 5 or 6 years old to adults, depending on the class.

They’ll probably use a bit of artistic licence to wangle a couple of extra thousand Wildlings when Jon actually comes to rally them to his cause.

Jon said about 5000 when on the docks at Hardhome and Tormund said he wasn’t good at counting, so they might massage the number that actually made it onto the boats, as if Jon underestimated.

Plus, do we know how many Wildlings Stannis captured when he defeated Mance’s army? In Episode 10 of Season 4 Stannis tells Mance “I’ll have thousands of your men in chains by nightfall…” and in Episode 3 of Season 5 Jon tells Stannis that the Night’s Watch can’t continue to feed Stannis’s men and the Wildling prisoners indefinitely, so Stannis leaves the Wildling prisoners’ fate to Jon.

Presumably then, there are a couple of thousand Wildling fighters already at Castle Black (as impractical and unrealistic as that sounds), so the number of Wildlings capable of fighting for Jon might end up at about 5000 once the writers have exploited all the wiggle room they’ve created for themselves.

5,000 sounds like a good estimate for Wildling numbers in the books…In the show, I’m not quite sure…
