I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Filming Resumes After the Emmys, Plus A Season 7 Return! | Watchers on the pader | A Game of Thrones Community for Breaking News, Casting, and Commentary
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
is heading back to Belfast and filming has resumed. Along with the latest sightings, we also have some news regarding a return and a new casting notice for season 7.
WotW’s Petra is visiting Belfast at the moment and happened to run into a few cast members hanging out together while she was out and about:
Walked past Alfie Allen, Kit Harington & Isaac Hempstead Wright in Belfast today. Unexpected perk of wandering around lost for an hour
Traveling through Europe and she’s still reporting: nicely done, Petra.
The studios must be very busy at the moment. In addition the above trio, other actors are due in town. In Emmys interviews, Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams all confirmed they were set to return to work shortly, with Clarke leaving Los Angeles on Monday and the other women arriving in Belfast on Wednesday. Nathalie Emmanuel tweeted about her return to the city, and we’ve heard from other sources that Jacob Anderson is headed back to Belfast for filming this week.
Our sources have provided news of another return, which we’ll tuck below a cut just to stay on the safe side.
Reliable sources have informed us that Paul Kaye will be returning to
in season seven as Thoros of Myr. We’ve also heard that we’ll be seeing more of Thoros than we did in season six.
It’s not a huge shock that Kaye is returning as he surfaced after a long absence, along with Beric Dondarrion and the Brotherhood without Banners, in the season six episode “No One.” Thoros and Beric were last seen offering a resistant Hound a place with the Brotherhood. Given Thoros’ continued presence on the show next year, I think it’s a safe bet that the Hound has accepted their offer and will be traveling north with the outlaws, as they journey to fight those cold winds rising.
In addition to our sightings, we also have this casting update from a source:
is searching for a Fierce Warrior. The character isn’t an exact match for any of the characters mentioned in the big batch of casting notices we shared in August. However it is similar to a couple of them, with some changes, so it’s possible that the show, being unable to find what they were looking for, shifted gears and changed the description.
He’s described as a fierce warrior, 30 to 45 age range, ideally with mixed ethnicity or Middle Eastern heritage. They’re looking for a charismatic actor, at least 6 feet tall with an intimidating, muscular physique. Apparently the character is seen “significantly” over several episodes but doesn’t have much dialogue, only a couple lines. He’s going to be fitted for a long-haired wig (presuming the actor doesn’t have it naturally), so that combined with the ethnicity requirements points toward this being another Dothraki character.
The character will be filming in late September, plus over three weeks beginning October 21st, and possibly more after November 22nd.

Yes! Filming news are always welcome 😀 Can’t wait for more!
Dothraki are boring, hope them and the unsullied are wiped out, and Dany is shockingly defeated. Team Lannister!
Is Melisandre gonna stay in the North disguising as an old lady or is she going to go south and meet Thoros on the way?
My bet is that she’s gonna be with the brotherhood. Thoros is there (and now we know that he’ll appear a lot). Hound is there (his fear of fire & red witch who burns people as a hobby). Arya was last seen not too far away and she’s bound to come across hound sooner or later. Melisandre said they’re gonna meet again.
So I guess Thoros, Mel, Arya and Hound will come across in season 7. Maybe they’ll go to Winterfell together?
I wonder who The Brotherhood will cross paths with first? Arya? Brienne? Or Melisandre?
I wander around Belfast all the time and I’ve yet to encounter a single recognisable cast or crew member. Some people have all the luck…
Love Paul Kaye. I hope we will see much more of him next season.
There was no way Beric and Thoros wouldn’t be returning with larger roles after how their plot ended last season. The characters I’m most curious about at this point are Daario, since they structured that in a way that could completely plausibly drop him, but left him alive, and Edmure, since you would think Arya would release him and he’d have a role to play in Northern politics, but I have no clue what it would be.
I missed the BwB so much. I’m glad Thoros is getting a bigger role. I hope they all make it to Winterfell with Arya and the Hound. Can you imagine Jon meeting Beric?
Brotherhood won’t pledge themselves to any lord’s cause but I think Melisandre will convince them that Jon is the Azor Ahai and they should serve him.
Given that Daenerys had been smooth sailing through Essos when it comes to conquering cities (she just had not handled the ruling part well), it’d be refreshing for her to start suffering heavy losses. Her victory over the Lannister/Grejoy army/navy, especially if it comes quite easy, will be boring, cliched and predictable. Not to mention such a huge army of Dothraki is not good news to anyone in Westeros, especially common folk. They need to be eradicated for the good of the Realm. I’m not fond of Cersei, less so of Euron, I want them both dead next season but not defeated by Daenerys
Alfie, Isaac, and Kit: that’s a new trio. And also the last 3 left standing from the scene where Ned beheads the NW deserter.
It’s nice to get confirmation that there’ll be more of Thoros in S7 than there was in S6. Can’t wait to see the Hound and the BwB again now that they’re officially on the same side. I really hope Thoros and Beric reach Jon and give him insight into R’hllor and resurrection, and of course help out with the coming war.
I’d rather see random flashbacks of Arthur Dayne and Rhaegar than more of those Dothraki meatheads. Oh Gods of GOT, give them to us.
More of BwB is always good. I’m glad we have Beric and not Lady Stoneheart on the show.
. . .it’d be refreshing for her to start suffering heavy losses.
Her victory. . .if it comes quite easy, will be boring, cliched and predictable. Not to mention such a huge army of Dothraki is not good news to anyone in Westeros, especially common folk. They need to be eradicated for the good of the Realm.
I agree – warfare, mass killing and dead bodies everywhere are the best refreshment and never boring.
What’s John Bradley up to? He wasn’t at the Emmy’s and nothing on him filming yet?
Carice probably won’t be filming for a while since she just had a baby.
Here it goes ..bring in all the hateful comments..such a surprise
All the talk about dothraki last season and casting them ended up them having 10 mins of screentime in 3 episodes..
Mel – Jon is AAr because LOL brought him back from dead.
Thoros – then Beric is seven times AAR because LOL has brought him back 7 times
Mel hears a noise and turns to look at the sky and sees a shadow fly across the sky and then changes her mind once again
Wow, BunBun. I never thought about that. Now I need to watch the very first episode again. There are hardly any of those characters left….
I can’t decide whether dragons in westeros is making me more excited or seeing everybody’s reaction to dany
I keep thinking about everybody as human beings with flesh and blood and feelings and flaws and souls and the precious gift of Life.
They’re just cannon fodder and cattle to be butchered to relieve boredom.
Maybe he has scenes with Euron or with some maesters. It would explain the absence.
Team Dany will have problems, but she will kick some Cersei´s ass
She has a savage army and another very disciplined one, that makes for a…balanced army, I suppose.
Dany can use the Dothraki screamers to make the Lords bend the knee, and the disciplined Unsullied to take KL without much horror.
The dothraki (Dany), the mountain clans (Tyrion) and the wildlings (Jon) are all wild for Westeros standards, but don´t forget they had a fucking family whose sigil was a flayed man that was followed by most the honourable noble houses of the noble North without question.
In my view, as long as Dany is bringing not only the Dothraki, but social change also, I care nothing about the stupid lords in their castles. The smallfolk has paid for their stupidity. Only Littlefinger has profited.
I agree. Plus, Cersei is the villain I root for, so, anything to keep her holding on for just a little while longer…*thumbs up*.
As a side, they LIVE casting Dothraki. And all for like 15 minutes of insignificant material for the season. Serious question: if the Dothraki make it through whatever is coming for this season…would they even survive the winter? And I don’t mean because of the white walkers, I mean because of the climate/temperatures. It would seem to me that they’re not built for that sort of environment.
Me too ..its a shame its going to be only seven episode season ..Hope they have all scenes have enough time to breathe and not rushed ..
Cersei learning about tyrion coming with dany as her hand ..
Cersei reactions to dragons and dany will be epic ..since she will now start to know who is YMBQ
LF reactions to the news of dany and how varys is with her..
Arya and dany ..if they meet and I hope they will ..they will become the sisters very soon and understand each other very well after all they went through..
Jon and dany – this will be the most talked about scene of the entire series..and I just hope its done well
Dany and olenna tyrell and Dany and sand snakes – this will be fun to watch I guess
I don’t know how sansa will be reacting to this ..
But the one scene I am looking forward most is mel’s reactions to dany and dragons..
What happened to the archer in the BWOB? Any reason why he didn’t come back last season?
I’m hoping for Jon vs Dany and for Dany to be foolish enough to try to invade the North. The nature will destroy what forces she will have left after her war with Cersei.
please don’t be another dothraki…no offense but i am sick of those guys their characters are one dimensional…why not cating Val or varaymyr sixskin intead of a another big dothraki who is just here to show his muscles.. and yell to prove how drogo-ish he truly is…
icequinn, She has had it rather easy in conquering. Her difficulty at ruling the Slaver Cities came from marching in and immediately forcing a cultural change of leaders and rich that were happy and didn’t want change. In Westeros one would assume she won’t be changing the culture as much as just ruling kindly, fairly and working to assist the downtrodden.
I’ve kind of written all this before but wth…
I actually think she should have it rather ‘easy,’ except for overthrowing Cersei and Euron. Westeros below The North needs to become united. The people need to CHOOSE Daenerys as their queen though rather than be forced for that to happen. She needs to earn the support of the Houses and the people which I think she can do diplomatically once they see she is a far better option than Cersei, whom nobody loves. I can see the Houses one by one joining her side with little confrontation but a ‘big battle’ occurs between Cersei-Euron when they will not fold to Daenerys and the rest.
Just as it pretty much has been for the past three seasons, I’d really like The North storyline(s) to essentially remain separate until late in the season. They do have very different concerns after all, so combining it all shouldn’t come until the greatest concern becomes a problem for them all.
I’m hoping for Jon vs Dany and for Dany to be foolish enough to try to invade the North. The nature will destroy what forces she will have left after her war with Cersei.
I doubt Dany will ‘invade’ the North. She has no reason too, and even if she does, the North will bow down. The North has more of a depleted force than Dany does (even after a war with Cersei). Plus, winter is here. The North isn’t going to go to war with anyone except the White Walkers.
Honestly, I’m a little skeptical Daenerys goes North this season. I think all of her season 7 will be dealing with Cersei and then setting herself up in Kings Landing (if its even there by the time she gets there). Meanwhile, Sansa and Jon’s S7 will be dealing with LF, the Northern Lords/Houses, preparations for winter, the likely return of Bran and maybe Arya, the revelation of his parentage, and their relationship with each other.
What’s John Bradley up to? He wasn’t at the Emmy’s and nothing on him filming yet?
He was spotted in Belfast last week with Kit. There are photos of him too. He was there in the week the filming started as well.
Ah so great to have Thoros back.I have this feeling that Beric will die for real early on.And don’t worry they always cast like a thousand Dothrakis but they are on screen for ten minutes and have like zero lines lol.
I wander around Belfast all the time and I’ve yet to encounter a single recognisable cast or crew member. Some people have all the luck…
Maybe you need to hang around places near the sound stages, especially in the early evening? I’ll bet the actors like to go knock back a few pints after a long day shooting.
Maisie just posted a video of her and Sophie on Instagram, and at this point it’s clear that Sophie is going to be wearing a wig this season. Obviously dyeing her hair for
She’s at the other side of the world but all the characters in your list (and more) are begging for interaction with her. GRMM is great at creating potential for interesting events. Maybe that’s why he can’t finish the books.
and nothing can be more fun than Olenna silencing sand snakes!
Cant wait to see if Arya, Mel, The Hound and the BowB will meet each other again in the Riverlands.
i will be disappointed if Daenery doesn’t kill both Cersei and Jon Snow he is booring, she have to be fair and kill both rebels
