The only things that bothered me about this movie

I was wondering why they did not die at the end?

k i know y the gnomes started to fight but y the owners?? wats the problem there???

Some other Romeo and Juliet spin-offs don't mention Rosaline, either. The famous 1968 film was the only one that gave Rosaline an on-screen cameo. Since Rosaline is a ghost character, there is not much you can do with her other than Romeo (or Gnomeo) complain about her not loving him back. I also have a feeling that if the movie featured Rosaline, then the audience would think, "Why is Gnomeo sad about being in pag-ibig with Juliet all because she is a Red? He didn't have this problem with Rosaline-who's also a Red!" (Personally, when I read the play, I thought how come Romeo didn't have problem with falling for Rosaline who is also a Capulet).

Gnomeo is somewhat a composite character of Romeo and Mercutio. Like Mercutio, Gnomeo is stealthy, impulsive, and enjoys teaching the Reds a leesson. Like Romeo, Gnomeo is a romantic, loves Juliet very much and would do anything for her.
