Why do you think Jacob imprinted on Renesmee?

He was attracted to bella before he was even a werewolf and before bella had even met edward. but when bella got pregnant jacob found it really hard to be away from her because of nessie, and bella felt the same way, so nessie also loved jacob before she was even born.
since they can't control who they imprint on, i think that they were always meant to be linked in some way.

In the book it says that they don't know why or how it happens it just does. I think that Renesmee and Jacob were made to be together. Kinda like true pag-ibig at first sight. You can't explain it, 'cause it just is. Kinda ironic that he imprinted on a half vampire-half human. Hope this sagot your question

i think he wanted to imprint of renesmee because he loved her or he wanted to get close to bella. but i think its actually because he loved renesmee <3

I think SM just wanted to add a twist to the story, and so Jacob could have a happy ending too :)

yeah probably...because the moment Jacob saw Renesmee's tsokolate brown eyes, he imprinted on her. And we all know that Bella is also famous for having beautiful tsokolate brown eyes.

Jacob must have been so drawn to Bella that his body is automatically latched to anything about her. And when Nessie is born with HER eyes, he's immediately drawn to her.

But didn't Leah sinabi that imprinting draws you to the person who had the best chance of passing on the lobo gene? it's just a theory I know...

Obviously Jacob can't choose who he imprints on. But all throughout the book Bella's talking about how it shouldn't be this hard loving him and it would be she wished he was her brother or something family related so it could just be effortless love.
But I think Steph M tied the story together with Jake imprinting on Renesmee just to kind of have a happy ending so Jacob is still in the picture and everyone's happy. She made sure Renesmee had tsokolate brown eyes like Bella so that way Jake and Edward got the best of both worlds and it still linked her to Bella. :)

I think that you are absolutely correct, although, since Bella is a vampire and there is the whole vampire vs werewolf thing, Jacob can't have Bella because she is a vampire, so he imprints on Renesmee, because, while still having Bella-ness in her, she is a hybrid, so Renesmee is not his enemy.

Outside the story, Jacob imprinted on Renesmee simply because Stephenie Meyer wanted to give him a happy ending too. He'd become one of her favourite characters so she wasn't happy with the idea of him remaining miserable at the end. Imprinting let him ilipat on from Bella without it being too quick, and the fact that his imprintee was her daughter kept him in her life and in the story.

In story, I also think that his imprintee should be a human-vampire hybrid, rather than a normal human like all the others, in order to make her madami special, madami "worthy" of being his mate. It'd fit with him being the true Alpha.

I've come across a theory in a tagahanga fiction that the wolves/shapeshifters, before imprinting, are attracted to any female relatives of their future imprintee. Sam dated Emily's cousin beforehand, and Jacob was in pag-ibig with Renesmee's mother. So it isn't that Jacob "settled" sa pamamagitan ng imprinting on the closest person to Bella he could have. It's the opposite. He only loved Bella because she was the susunod thing to Renesmee.
