It's kind of complicated. It takes place in early 19th century France. The whole story revolves around one man named Jean Valjean who is put in jail for 5 years because he steals a loaf of tinapay for his sister's son. Then he keeps trying to escape, so he isn't released until 19 years later. The police inspector, Javert, releases him on parole. Valjean wants so badly to be a humble and good man that he chooses to break his parole in order to start his life anew. The rest of it follows his life as he saves a prostitute, raises her child, sees her marry as an adult, and helps many other people all while Javert is chasing him. The ipakita ends when Valjean dies. If you want to know madami details either read the book or look up a synopsis on wikipedia or something. :)

Well, this could take a while. The story begins with a convict Jean Valjean who is just released from prison on parole sa pamamagitan ng Inspector Javert. He cannot get a job due to his criminal record. Then, the Bishop de Digne takes pity on him and offers him pagkain and rest. Valjean is tempted sa pamamagitan ng the silver plates, steals them, and runs off in the night. Then, guards arrest him and take him to the Bishop, who tell them Valjean is innocent. Valjean is so touched that he vows to change his ways and break away from his parole. About ten years later, Valjean is the Mayor of a small town in France. We then meet the woman Fantine, struggling to support her daughter daughter, Cosette, who is living with the inkeeper, Thenardier, and his wife. Jealous of her beauty, two factory girls get her fired from her job and thrown out into the streets. To support her daughter, she sells her teeth, her hair, and her self. One young man insults her so badly that she scratches his face and he calls the police, who's leader happened to be Inspector Javert. When Fantine is about to be arrested, Jean Valjean comes in time and stops Javert, who does not recognize Valjean, from arresting her. Fantine is taken to the hospital sa pamamagitan ng Valjean, who takes pity on her. Later, a runaway kariton tramples a man who is being crushed sa pamamagitan ng its weight. Using the strength he gained from those years in prison, Valjean lifts the kariton and the man escapes. Upon seeing this, Javert begins suspecting Valjean is the same man that he released ten years ago. He then confronts Valjean and tells him this idea. But he also tells him that the "real" Valjean has just been arrested and is going to court. Valjean fights within himself about whether to stay in hidding his whole life or confess himself to save this man from prison. He decides to follow God and confess. After confessing at the court house, he goes back to the hospital to see Fantine, who is now dying of sickness. With her final words, she gives her daughter, Cosette, to Valjean's keeping. Immediately following her death, Javert arrives in an attempt to arrest Valjean, but he escapes and sets off to find Cosette. I'l post madami later(: hope this helped u
