If you don't want a relationship but you like him, just be close to him, maybe go out with mutual mga kaibigan (not a group petsa but a group get-together). Maybe, you'll eventually want to petsa him, and then you'll have been around each other a while and be madami comfortable as people and as friends. If you don't, you can continue being friendly to each other.
