Ed Sheeran Thinks One Direction ‘Sounds Great’ On ’18’ 

One Direction. Not surprisingly, he’s more than thrilled with their continued success.

Since the boy has recorded a few of the “A Team” singer’s songs, it’s not altogether surprising that he’s keeping a close eye on the group’s fame and fortune. Since Directioners have thoroughly enjoyed their collaborations, Sheeran is more than happy about playing a part in the band’s musical prosperity.

During a recent chat with the folks over at

, Ed Sheeran discussed penning the song “18” for One Direction’s latest album,

. As you may already have guessed, the songwriter is over the moon about penning the tune for his friends.

“I’m really happy with the record that I wrote for them. It’s the first record I’ve actually specifically written for them. The other ones were my records that just didn’t make it only my album, just because I had too many slow songs. But this one, I remember I had a meeting with them and he said we need a song. And the day after I wrote it and sent it over, and they sound great on it! It’s good.”

When Ed Sheeran isn’t assisting One Direction in the studio, he’s apparently helping his pals find love and affection.

reports that Sheeran firmly believes that his buddy Taylor Swift should find a man as soon as possible. In fact, he thinks the songstress and

star Orlando Bloom would make a smashing couple.

Despite Sheeran’s efforts, Swift isn’t ready to date at the moment.

“Dating or finding someone is the last thing on my mind, because I can’t picture how it could work with the way my life is. I don’t know how a guy is supposed to walk next to his girlfriend when there are 20 men with cameras, and he can’t protect his girlfriend because that’s the life she chose. I just don’t see how it could work, so I don’t think about it, and I kind of run from it when it presents itself. ‘Cause I don’t think any guy really… They think that they would want to get to know me, and maybe date me, but I don’t think they want what comes with it.”

What does all of this mean at the end of the day? Being Ed Sheeran’s friend is definitely a good thing. If he’s not helping you find success in the music business, he’s there to make sure your love life is on the right track.
