She was just about 10 miles from Manhattan, but her car broke down. When Monique got out of the car, she was angry and sad that she kicked her front left tire while crying. Luckily, she broke down sa pamamagitan ng a repair garage. Before she pusher the car closer to the repair garage, she took out her biker outfit and motorcycle from the trunk. She has been riding a motorcycle a lot to get her anger out. She put on the outfit over her clothes and put her helmet on.
sa pamamagitan ng the time she got back on the road again, she was remembering that night.
Flashback
She and Kowalski were out for shrimp. A man was talking mess about the movie that was on, which was "Forrest Gump".
"Hey, it's a good movie! Inspiring, in fact!" Monique shouted to the man.
"Maybe to you, you're probably stupid or something!" the man said, making Monique furious.
"Take it easy, Monique. Some people just don't get the big picture right away," Kowalski said, trying to calm her down.
"Oh, seems you're not only stupid, but you can't take me on!" the man sinabi while smacking her and Kowalski at the back of the head.
At this point, Monique got up and punched the man in the face until he was down, then she looked at the damage she had done and looked at her hands.
"Monique, are you okay?" Kowalski asked.
"No, I'm not. I can't be around much longer!" she sinabi as she was walking out the door with Kowalski after her.
"What are you saying?" Kowalski asked, concerned.
"I'm saying that I'm a monster who is failing at masking her true nature. If I keep this up, I might even hurt you and I pag-ibig you too much to want to do that to you," she replied with tears in her eyes.
"But you can't go," Kowalski protested while grabbing her hand from behind, which she just shook off.
"I'm sorry, Kowalski, but it's best for everyone," Monique sinabi before she hugged him and ran away.
present time
Monique parked the motorcycle in front of the apartment building and knocked like crazy. Skipper answered the door.
"Where's Kowalski?" she asked.
Skipper barely recognized her until she asked that.
"Is that you?" he asked.
"Yes, Skipper, it's me. Now, WHERE'S KOWALSKI?" she said.
"Last I heard, he was waiting at the museum," Skipper responded.
Monique got back on her bike and rode to the museum. When she made it, she quickly ran up the stairs and inside. It wasn't closed, but the place was empty. She took off her helmet and took a piece of paper out of her pocket. It was a note Kowalski sent her a while back.
Dear Monique,
I guess you're shocked that I wrote to you after everything. When you sinabi that you were a monster, I remembered my incident with Jiggles. In the past, he was an example of a mindless, heartless monster. I've thought about that because you're not a monster, to me, you're a good person. I would never be scared of you or run away from you. I pag-ibig you too much to be scared or think of you badly. Best for everybody? Your departure wasn't best for me. I want you to come back. Maybe think about it.
Signed, Kowalski
She read the note and a tear came down her face.
"Glad to see you again," Kowalski sinabi from behind, making Monique turn around.
"Kowalski, did you mean what you wrote?" Monique asked.
Kowalski walked toward her.
"Of course I did. Every word. I really need you back, Monique," Kowalski sinabi before he kissed Monique. They ended up pressing against the pader and onto the floor. Monique laid her head on his lap when they sat up against the wall.
"Thank you for helping me see the truth, Kowalski," Monique sinabi quietly as he just caressed her hair.
