when i choose a starter i look at gyms and the types,and the pokemon they have.the first and segundo gym are always very hard for me.thi sis how i order the starters starting at worst choice:chicorita,poor thing is defenseless against flying and bug types,the types of the first two gym leaders.totodile,i think is a very strong segundo to cyndaquil.it has awesome attack,and ok against bug and flying.cyndaquil,what i think to be the best choice,is good against bug types and should slaughter bugsy's scyther,and is decent against flying types which you encounter often through the game.

yep i did just that! But i traded my level 100s from my other game to beat the segundo round of gym leaders.

Well, if you're a beginner choose Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil is pangkalahatang pretty strong and has an early evolution. If you're like in the middle, Totodile is a pretty good choice. And if you're an expert or just want a challange, go with Chikorita. Expecially since the first gym is a disadvantage to it. :) I'd go with Totodile though, I like water pokemon best! XD
Because I am a stupid child of Jesus, I chose Chikorita. Honestly, it's not a bad Pokemon at all. pangkalahatang the hardest to battle with, but I beat the Elite Four in one straight shot. Meganium won't let you down. It's become my paborito Pokemon after this game. -^^-
Hmm, well it depends. I chose Totodile. Totodile has a lot of strength and physical attacks. It can learn most of the HM moves too. Cyndaquil is also a pretty good choice. Its the fastest one with a good amount of attack and special attack, learning a good set of both physical and special attacks. However, its defense would be the lowest. Its a apoy Pokemon, which is slightly hard to find a apoy Pokemon in the early stages. Chikorita would be the hardest to use. It has a lot of status afflicting moves. Overall, its a good user, but has a lot of weaknesses.
Me personally, I chose Cyndaquil, because I pag-ibig Fire-type Pokemon. I choose that type for every version I get :) and the final evolution pretty much always looks uber-powerful.
If you want an easy game, Cyndaquil or Totodile. If you are like me, and choose Chikorita, Clair, Pryce, Jasmine, Bugsy, and Falkner will give you a tough time.
Well, I started off with Chikorita, and I beat the game within less than a week. It doesn't really matter what type you start off with. I don't really go for the whole "who's stronger". I just pick one and get on with it. It's not like the storyline is going to change depending on which Pokemon you're picking. XD
But I'd go with Cyndaquil or Chikorita anyway. Just make sure that you get some Pokemon that will help you with other gym leaders on the way. You can't always depend on your starter.
well here's what i think u should do: either pick cyndaquil (like i did) or pick totodile. dont pick the damo type: chickorita. it has a lot of weaknesses.
