The ratio of pens to pencils in a box i 2 to 7 If there are 27 pens and pencils in the box all together then how many pencils are there?

this math "ratio" problem scares the crap out of me I really dont get anything!!!
please help me!

i did a proportion and multiplied 27by7 and got 189 then divide that sa pamamagitan ng 2

So the ratio is 2:7. That makes 9 parts (2+7=9). You then divide the 27 pens and pencils sa pamamagitan ng the 9, which makes 3. And as the ratio is 2:7, you times it sa pamamagitan ng the 7 because that's the proportion of pencils. 3 times sa pamamagitan ng 7 is 21, so the answer is 21.
