Do you think that pasko has become to commercial?

Along with other holidays like Valentine Day, Easter, etc.
I mean thanksgiving is about being thankful! Then the araw after is Black Friday where you go out and buy madami stuff!
Valentines araw is about ipinapakita someone you care! Not chocolates and flowers!
Ugh I'm really getting peeved off!
What do you guys think?

well, first of all, chocolates and bulaklak are a way of ipinapakita someone you care, i think they're pretty cool, and i like getting chocolates and flowers. I don't see anything wrong with people buying madami stuff, you can be thankful and buy stuff *shrug* im jus' sayin XD
and to answer your question, i think pasko is just commercial enough, it's pretty cool, and besides, what's wrong with being commercial anyways? :P
i think people should focus on real problems and not "if holidays are too commercial"

Interesting response but I find that a homemade gift from the puso is sweet than any tsokolate or picking bulaklak is nicer than just buying a bouquet. It's the thought that counts but you're right about the real problem thing i just wanted to see what people thought :P

Christmas, no. I think all the stuff and and sales just help get people into the holiday spirit! You know, give the gift of giving and all. The puso of pasko is still about religion and/or family (depending on your views), and spending time with the people that you love.

I think because holidays like Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, Father's araw etc. aren't religious they are madami commercial because companies can take advantage of them more.

I have to agree with you. Presents are great and all, but if you think about it, madami often than not, the feeling just isn't there.
And then you have all those non christians celebrating christmas, a araw in which the name litterally means 'a celebration of Hesus Crhist.' I'm not saying they shouldn't get presents, presents for all I say, but pasko has sort of changed into a secular holiday.
Oh well, I'll celebrate the life of christ on my own terms, that's madami my style anyway.

Christmas, yes. I hate how it's all about how many presents you get, and how much money was spent. I hate that decorations are put in shops three months before December. It's meant to be a family holiday. It's meant to be about spending time with the people you love.
