What is a movie that you think is wayyyy too underrated?
You can name as many as you like. I'm always looking to expand my movie list.
For me, I think the movie, "A Patch of Blue" is far too underrated. The film is about an uneducated, insecure, dependent teenage girl who is blind and lives with her physically and emotionally abusive mother and her lush of a grandfather. One araw in the park she meets a man who takes her under his wing, teaches her to be independent, strong and how to stick up for herself.
While it being a feel-good movie it's filled with plenty of angst as well. It sends a beautiful message and is riddled with controversy about domestic violence, living as a blind person, and about the social stigma surrounding interracial couples back then and with the one blind character willing to overlook something as insignificant as race. It's so good, I'm astounded it's not one of those classics that went down in history. Nowadays, susunod to no one has even heard of this movie and it's really a crying shame....
Totally recommend it to anyone (It deals with sensitive matter so possibly triggering)
