What are your thoughts on the sheer distance involved between the solar system and the closest stars? Do you think we will ever reach them?

(Maybe one day, assuming we reach a certain percentage of the speed of light, but otherwise no. Proxima Centauri is 4 light years away and would take roughly 50,000 years to get to at our current speed)
