I've been a fan since the mid-late 70's, so that makes it roughly 30 years. The first time (of many) that I got to see them perform was in 1978.

I live in Australia and have been a fan for 28years.I seen my first RUSH show in 2002,then 2004 & 2008, 9 shows in total.

I haven't had a chance to see them in ages. :(
You may possibly have passed me up on how many of their concerts you've attended, too.
If memory serves me correctly, one of the last times I saw them, I got to go to a big backstage party at Alpine Valley (that's in southeast Wisconsin - USA). It was pretty cool - besides getting to talk to them, anything that anyone wanted to eat or drink was available, and if they didn't have it, they'd send for it. I think that was sometime around the mid 80's. Somewhere in one of my LPs, I've got some of the comcert reviews, backstage passes, etc., so I'll have to get them out and check on that someday.

I've been Rush fan for about 5 years. Don't know why...can't specify. :-)

Been a fan since about A Farewell to Kings thats about 32 years I guess. Went to see them in Newcastle City Hall in the UK during that tour two nights running. I saw them about another 4 or 5 times until 1980, then didn't see them again until the Snakes and Arrows tour.

First cocert i saw was in 1980 Permentwaves tour.I've been thier #1 fan ever since!I've seen 13 concerts all in all and several at front row center!

I've been a fan for about a year. I'm only 14 though, so it's not too suprising! I just really got into music about a year ago, and I've found that classic rock bands are better than most music of today. So now I like classic rock the best.

As a slightly off-topic thing but it seems like this is the group that would be interested in it... Foreigner came out with a new CD called Can't Slow Down, it's an awesome CD, I really suggest it!

It's nice to hear that. I'm not too familiar with the more recent music that's been coming out. Once in a while I might hear some when I'm with my daughter and grandkids, but that's about it. What surprises me is, most of my grandkids like a lot of classic rock too.
I think there were a few Foreigner songs I liked, but don't think I own anything by them. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I am going to the show tonight July 9 VIP in Sarnia and Tuesday in Toronto for the 17th time. I tried every contest to get meet and greet but never got the call.

They were in Milwaukee on the 3rd, and I would've loved to have seen their show. If my health hadn't been so bad, I probably would've tried to win tickets to see them too. The way I'm feeling, it's taking a lot of effort just to go online. :(

A Farewell to Kings was the first album of theirs i bought. The music really spoke to me then, just as it does now. i was lucky enough to see them twice last year (Time Machine tour) and loved it.

I've been a fan for 10 years, basically ever since I was 8 when i first heard their music in my dad's car, and was instantly stuck to them.

I've been a fan for 14 years now. I got to know them by hearing 'Prime Mover' on an obscure but excellent hard rock/metal compilation. Sad to say so, but in those 14 years, and owning almost every of their cd's, I have never ever been able to see them live! I don't think they toured my home country Belgium last time around (on the Snakes & Arrows Tour?), and I'm afraid they won't come to Belgium when they tour across Europe next year, as far as I can tell from their website. How come??? I've been looking forward for ages but it just seems impossible... a disgrace! Still the best rhythm section in the world!

I can see why you're disappointed, Martin74, I have no idea how they schedule their tours, so all you can do is cross your fingers that someday you'll still get a chance to see them. Have you checked out any of their concert videos? I know it's not the same as actually going, but at least it would give you an idea, and you could always watch them at your convenience. I've got several VHS tapes with some of their performances, and from what I remember, all of them were great. It's been a while since I've watched any though - VCR is not behaving well, and I don't want the tapes to get eaten. Either I'm going to have to replace my VCR, or I'll have to look into buying some of their shows on DVD.

Since 76 and All the World's a Stage was the 1st album I owned.

I don't really understand why you think that would make you sound like a moron, because you're not! Just because you've discovered you like something that a parent likes does not make it any less cool. A number of fans have discovered RUSH (as well as other bands) through their parents, siblings, or other relatives. I first heard them and got hooked on their music when I was hanging out with some of my cousins. My oldest daughter is familiar with them because I took her to see them when she was quite young. I'm not sure if she still likes them today, but before that concert, I had to hold her back from Neil's drum kit. I had backstage passes, so before the show we got to stand about 5 feet away from the kit on stage. Amazingly, she had fallen asleep and was totally out by the time of Neil's drum solo though. lol!

First saw them at the Apollo, Manchester on the Tour of the Hemispheres - early '79. Been a fan ever since.
