Scotty McCreery and the rest of the 41 students who participate in the Garner Magnet High School Die Meistersingers, visited the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts on Feb. 18-21 as part of the National President's araw Festival.

GMHS Choral Director, Meredith Clayton, said:

“Our experience at the Kennedy Center was life changing,” Clayton said. “Singing in one of the greatest konsiyerto halls in our nation is an opportunity I know my students won’t soon forget. They had the incredible chance to work under the direction of Dr. Andre Thomas, director of Choral Activities from Florida...

“It’s a really sweet song,” Scotty says. “I played it for my sister and I said, ‘Would you like to hear what’s sinabi in this song?’ She said, ‘I would pag-ibig to have a guy say some of this stuff to me.’

“It’s talking about how great they are and it’s tough for the guy to handle because he just loves it. It has a nice twist to it. It’s like the songwriters wrote it just for me.”

They say behind every good man is a woman, and American Idol season 10 winner Scotty McCreery would be first to admit that the women in his life have shaped the artist he is today. Which makes the inclusion of a song called “The Trouble with Girls” a peculiar choice for the 17-year-old’s debut album Clear As araw (out Oct. 4).

“My mom and my sister have shown me how to treat females with respect,” he tells The Hollywood Reporter. “After some boyfriends she had in the past, my sister would say, ‘Don’t do that.’ She’s been great to me. They have both been right sa pamamagitan ng my side from...

I'd call it a boring, tedious, frustrating sport. But I guess peaceful works, too. That's how Scotty McCreery described golf when he told me he'd be spending part of Tuesday (Nov. 15) playing at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.

When I asked him how he'd spent the araw getting ready for the CMA Awards last week, he said, "I was gonna go hit golf balls, but it didn't happen. I got a new set of clubs I wanted to try. But golf can wait. ... I'm playing Augusta ... and I can't wait for that." (There's a big ipakita there in Georgia with McCreery and Gary Allan, Martina McBride, Little Big...
