Has anyone managed to unlock Ness from "Super Smash Bros 64"?

If so, I really need some help. It says you have to play the game with only three stock, on normal diffculty and without any contuines. I've played that for days and have got nothing! >:( I hate it. So, does anyone know how to unlock him? I wish I had an expert of the game who could help me unlock him.

Haha, I understand! It just takes practice, I'd played Melee for years before I got the original, so I got ahold of it easily. So yeah, it just takes practice! Especially practice with the shields and the rolls, they can make or break a match!
