What do you think or hope will happen in the sequel to The Host?

I think Mel has spent enough years mothering her brother and isn't interested in having a child. Also when she first met Jared they agreed they didn't want to bring a child into their world. Wanda, however, when explaining how the Souls reproduce, sinabi she always wanted to be a mother, but couldn't make the sacrifice. Later, when on a raid to get Jamie's medicine she sinabi she had no problem sacrificing herself for a human. I think she will have a child.

However, I feel the story begs for a peaceful revolution. Wanda's morality would require the susunod step to be sharing with other Souls her insight that the Souls are wrong in taking over human bodies. This theme would involve a lot of internal conflict and strong emotions, Stephenie Meyer's specialties.

Also, since new cells of human resistors were introduced at the end of the book, they will play a part in future sequels. I can see the end of the series being a confrontation between the various human groups and the Souls, similar to Breaking Dawn 2.

I think Melanie and Jared, and Wanda and Ian will get married, probably not at the same time. And since Wanda never told any Souls about Jared's cabin that would be the perfect honeymoon location. Cause its not like they can go on a proper honeymoon if they are still hiding from all of the Souls.
