Here is a quick summary of the prologue:
"Long ago, long before Katniss Everdeen's parents were ever brought into existence, a beautiful baby girl sa pamamagitan ng was born in the Capitol around the time of the 9th annual Hunger Games. Her parents, who worked for the government, named her Savera. Before the 10th Hunger Games, Savera's father was ibingiay the honor of being Gamemaker. But he failed to give the crowd the thrill and horror the past 9 Gamemakers had ibingiay them, and was executed. Devastated and terrified of the Capitol's power now, Savera's mother committed suicide without a single thought of the helpless one-year old baby she was leaving behind. Savera was collected sa pamamagitan ng the Capitol and kept in their possession till she was 16. As you know, at that time the 26th annual Hunger Games had began, and a young, handsome man sa pamamagitan ng the name of Leonis Inchcape was applied as Gamemaker. His strategy, his ideas, were so good that the people of the Capitol wanted him to be Gamemaker forever. Savera, beautiful at 16, heard of this man and decided to go visit. Over a matter of a few months the two were desperately in pag-ibig with each other. But of course, this was forbidden. A Gamemaker was not allowed to have romantic relationships for the Capitol feared it would make them soft-hearted and make their games less heart-pounding. When Savera and Leonis were caught cuddling, the Capitol was enraged and almost executed Leonis. But since the people loved him so much, they decided to spare him and instead sent the lovely Savera away to District 4, just in time to have her name put in for the 27th annual Hunger Games. Of course, the Capitol rigged the reaping and Savera was chosen. Leonis was still Gamemaker. How would Savera, who lived in the Capitol her whole life and had no survival skills, be able to survive the Hunger Games? & how would Leonis, who was still Gamemaker, create a game that he would have to watch his pag-ibig die in?"
