‘Vampire Diaries’ EP Teases Huge Stefan ‘Bombshell’ & A Major Problem For Steroline

Big trouble is brewing for Stefan Salvatore. A massive ‘bombshell’ from his past is about to hit him that will cause major tension for Steroline, ‘Vampire Diaries’ EP Caroline Dries reveals!

Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) is about to have a lot more drama on his hands.

 executive producer Caroline Dries teases that Stefan will learn a “bombshell from his past,” the intensity of Valerie’s “resentment” and the problems ahead for Stefan and Caroline (Candice King)!

is going to be very Stefan-centered. The younger Salvatore brother is not prepared for what he’s about to learn. “I will say the biggest tease is Stefan learns a bombshell from his past as we start to understand the depths of Valerie’s resentment,” Caroline Dries told HollywoodLife.com and a group of reporters. “And it will cause a problem in Caroline and Stefan’s relationship!”

Valerie and Stefan do have a past — she nabbed his V-card way back in the day. Caroline reveals that Valerie’s secret will “shake him [Stefan] to his core.” Could it perhaps be about a baby?

“When she drops the bomb on Stefan’s lap, it will basically shake him to his core and define the rest of his season for him,” Caroline continued. “You know, with these characters like Stefan and Damon and Klaus and Elijah, they’re just so rich, because they go back so many years, but it’s interesting that even for us, season 7, you can kinda still peel back layers of the characters. We’ve seen so many episodes of them, we feel like we know them so well, and then in Episode 5, Stefan learns this huge news, and then in Episode 6, he kind of admits, like, how this affects him, even in the present day. So, that’s what’s kind of fun about this storyline.”

Could Valerie’s big secret be what tears Caroline and Stefan apart this season? It’s certainly a strong possibility. As we all know, Caroline is engaged to someone who’s not Stefan in the flash forward, so something HUGE must have happened to cause them to go their separate ways.
