Who here thinks Twilight's Edward is a stalker and Jacob is a Pedophile?

If a guy you just met was constantly staring at you and following you and sneaking in your room at night to watch you sleep...would that make him a stalker? And if your mom's friend who has been in pag-ibig with her falls for you after he has just removed your infant body from your mom....and imprints himself on you at moment making you his soulmate and then watches you grow up....doesn't that make him a Pedophile? And even if he does look your age he still is 20 yrs older then you....I find that creepy and wrong. What do you think?

In order for Jacob to be a pedophile, he would have to be sexually attracted to a child, but he's not. (It is possible to like a child in a non-romantic or sexual way)
The fact that so many think his admiration is romantic and sexual makes me think so many people are perverts.

There's a difference between being stalked and being followed.
In order to be stalked, the "stalkie" must actually feel threatened sa pamamagitan ng the "stalker's" presence. The law is defined sa pamamagitan ng the person's reaction.
That's why there's no such thing as being "unknowingly stalked"

If a person is not threatened sa pamamagitan ng a person following them, then they are not stalked and nothing can be legally done to stop it. It's not against the law to follow a person who doesn't mind being followed.

You may now believe that Bella was stupid for not being threatened sa pamamagitan ng being followed sa pamamagitan ng a guy who was trying to protect her, but that's all on you.

The reason I think Jacob's admiration is romantic and/or sexual is because of the word soulmate. A soulmate (or soul mate) is believed sa pamamagitan ng some to be the person with whom one has a feeling of deep or natural affinity, similarity, love, sex, intimacy, sexuality, spirituality, or compatibility. And even if Jacob does not press the issue till the child is older he is still 20 yrs older and he will have been like an uncle to her while she grew up. I would not feel comfortable if one of mine or my husbands good mga kaibigan suddenly showed an interest in one of our daughters and I defiantly would not encourage it. I do not think I am a pervert in thinking there is something wrong with Jacobs feelings for Bella's child, but I might be seeing something madami sinister there then is really going on. Now when it comes to the Edward situation, how do you know she did not mind being followed? She did not even know at first and what was he protecting her from? Seems to me her life did not become threatened until he came into her life. So is it okay for a guy to "follow" a woman and invade her privacy as long as he says it was pag-ibig and he was just doing it to protect her? I am not trying to start a fight or anything but i would just hate for some guys to get it into their heads after seeing girls reaction to twilight that it is okay to stalk a girl as long as you say that you were just protecting her.

I don't believe soulmates have anything to do with sex or romance either. I know Bella wasn't bothered sa pamamagitan ng being followed because she never sinabi she was. I sinabi stalking is defined sa pamamagitan ng the person being followed, not the words the follower uses. If the person being followed isn't bothered, it's not stalking. If she's bothered and feels harassed, and the defenition of harassment fits the situation, it's stalking, regardless of his feelings.

Thank you for your input and after having this conversation I do not have strong feelings of disgust toward Jacob anymore, but I still have no desire or interest in this series. Thank you for your perspective on this subject .

The reasons above were just some of the reasons I do not like Twilight. I have not actually read the books and I have no desire to after finding out these things and after watching the first movie.
