What do you prefer? HAPPY ENDING or SAD ENDING??

I like happy books with sad endings, or sad books with happy endings. i do like all the couples to live happily ever after, though:)

It depends on the plot. If the plot calls for a sad ending, then go for it. In the long run, it is always the AUTHOR's decision to have whether happy or sad ending. o.O

It depends. I pag-ibig sad endings 'cause I think happy ending are over rated. But if you want a happy or sad ending have a happy or sad ending. Or both, like in a book I read, there was both. The sad: Her best friend died because of her and she found out her family wasn't her real family. The Happy: She saved some people from serving some evil asong babae for 100 madami years. (Tithe. A modern faerie tale)

As they said, it does depend on the plot. If it were a romance story with lots of conflict, a sad ending is always most memorable. However, if it's a typical romance with little conflict, make it a happy ending. If it's a story that has nothing to do with romance... well, it all depends on what the story is. You can do a happy and sad ending. Have a tragedy that causes a happy ending! :/ Message me about the theme of your story, and I'll tell you my opinion. :)

Well when it comes to romance novels, I like sad endings that kinda end on a positive note, if you get me...

For example, you can go out on a sad ending with a romance novel by, say, having one or both of them die, but they'll still be together when it happens, so technically it's happy, see? Because they pag-ibig each and one or both left but they left knowing that they'll always pag-ibig each other, so it's not like the other one thinks they hate them! And I am probably being very confusing, it's just the kinda ending I like :)

well, in my opinion, if its a trilogy, something sad or tragic MUST happen, otherwise its all that one apon a time, and they lived happily ever after sh*t all over again, one reason the old Disney pelikula make me sick (no effence to any1 who likes Sinderella et cetera) but it really depends on whats happening,
e.g, if its a single book, then maybe there could a a tragedy in the background or something realistic, but when it comes to romance, honestly there needs to be something INTERESTING happening.
When its comedy, honestly, unless its funny pain, nothing sad should happen. Fantasy, however, is a whole different thing. It could be happy, sad or sickly-sweet. Whichever!

To be honest, it all depends on the plot.

Sad endings..... and then a sequel! You leave them depressed at the end of the first, and then a great story to follow in the segundo that makes up for the depression in the first!!! :D

i like sad books with happy endings or disturbing endings like stephen king books!!

Wow, I gotta say I'm in pag-ibig with both but what I luv madami than a happy or sad ending is one of those unfinished endings that leaves you wondering: So did he pick door 1 or door 2?
