A couple years ago, director Bryan Singer usurped the trades by announcing the cast of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, and today he has done it again. Just a short while ago, Singer tweeted that new young actors that will be playing Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey in 20th Century Fox\'s

Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on HBO\'s Game of Thrones, will play Jean Grey. The mutant with telepathic powers was previously played by Famke Janssen ("Taken").

Tye Sheridan, who starred alongside Matthew McConaughey in Mud, has landed the role of Cyclops (Scott Summers). The mutant that shoots powerful optic beams was previously played by James Marsden ("Superman Returns").

Alexandra Shipp, best known for playing KT Rush on the show

, will play Storm (Ororo Munroe). The mutant that can control the weather was previously played by Halle Berry ("Monster\'s Ball").

I called Sophie Turner months ago on an article about who we\'d like to see cast.  So, needless to say I think this was a perfect casting call. 

I can dig it. Though not a natural redhead, Sophie will make a gorgeous young Jean Grey. Tye was great in both Mud and Joe, we might actually get a fleshed out Cyclops this go round. The wild card here is Storm...and given that Shipp\'s biggest film so far is on the Lifetime channel, I\'m assuming she had a damn fine audition to land this role.

My only concern is that Tye is only 5\'8" and Cyclops is 6\'3". Sophie Turner is actually taller then him at 5\'9". When you think of a leader of the X-Men you think of someone tall, not really a man on the almost short scale, but I\'m sure with camera angles you won\'t be able to tell.
