By far. Lucy from Elfen Lied was an overpowered fan service reach with a backstory riddled with plot holes.

Agree. She was a fan service but I still like her.

Heartfilia's character arc was elaborate and coherent while Kaede's was generic and simple.

I don't really like Lucy much. She's probably my least favorite character in Fairy Tail.

Yeah, she's far from perfect. Really selfish in the beginning. I'd just say she's an upgrade imo. :)

Lucy is actually a very unique protagonist, and Kaede had very little depth in actuality, but you're entitled to your view and have legitimate reasons for your preference. :)

As a former Fairy Tail fan, I've come to dislike her character as time went on.

What did you dislike? Just curious. I can think of a few good reasons off the top of my head.

For me she's just a forgettable character, and she slowly seemed to turn into fan service almost, which turned me off after a certain point so I stopped watching.
I don't find her very likable now. Maybe that's just me.

Understandable. They did have to make her a sexual object along with every other anime girl ever. Which pisses me off. I just liked her character despite the annoying innuendos. But I totally get your drift.
