Hiro and Baymax Are on Their Way to Disney Parks This Fall
posted on October 16th, 2014 by Shawn Slater, Communications Manager, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Creative Entertainment
After Disney’s new animated feature “Big Hero 6” hits theaters in 3D in November, the stars of the film are heading to Disney Parks to greet their fans.
At Walt Disney World Resort, Disney’s Hollywood Studios guests can step inside The Magic of Disney Animation attraction to tour the lab from the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, and then meet Hiro Hamada and his huggable buddy Baymax in Hiro’s garage workshop.
When Hiro and Baymax fly west to Disneyland park in California, they’ll find a home-away-from-home in a recreation of Hiro’s robotics workshop near the Starcade in Tomorrowland. Disneyland guests can also get an exclusive preview of the film at the “Special Extended Sneak Peek of ‘Big Hero 6,’” now playing in Tomorrowland’s Magic Eye Theater.
With all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Big Hero 6” is an action-packed comedy-adventure about robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who’s catapulted into the midst of a dangerous plot and must transform his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—and a diverse group of friends into a band of high-tech heroes.

So very excited for the new meet-n-greet opportunity! I’m looking forward to this movie.

Amanda – Baymax is really cute and fun! You’re going to love him!
Lesley from LA on October 16th, 2014 at 10:44 am
35 days until we get there, and my boy is happy! Just yesterday, he was asking me if they were going to be there.

Will Wreck It Ralph and Vanellope be removed to make way for the Big Hero 6 characters at The Magic of Disney Animation?
Shawn Slater on October 16th, 2014 at 12:20 pm
Michael and Jennifer – Yes. The Wreck-It Ralph location inside The Magic of Disney Animation will close October 24 to prepare for “Big Hero 6.” You’ll still have a chance to see Ralph and Vanellope, though, when they appear in Mickey’s “Boo to You” Halloween Parade and “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime” Parade at Magic Kingdom Park.
I can’t wait to meet both characters! I know that there was a special Annual Passholders preview of the sneak peak for Big Hero 6 in Tomorrowland in September – will there be a special preview of the characters for Annual Passholders at Disneyland?
Do you know what day or week they start their meet and greet in Hollywood Studios?
Eric from MA on October 16th, 2014 at 12:53 pm
Aww, thought it would be Baymax in his armor! Although suppose it keeps popping off.
And waving at a character in a parade still isn’t -meeting- a character (as those Frozen fans at the Studio know)…Ralph and Vanellope need a new home!
Patricia from LA on October 16th, 2014 at 1:00 pm
I will be in WDW from Nov 6th through Nov 10th. I really hope my son gets a chance to have his picture with Beymax =) He is super excited for the film.
Any idea what date they will debut at HS?
I’m sure we will love to mee Baymax and Hiro. But we will really miss meeting Ralph and Vanellope! Any plans for them a new meet and greet besides seeing them in the parade?
Does this mean Baymax will look like he does in the photo: all white, “non-threatening and huggable design,” no armour? I love that line of his in the one movie trailer.
Will Hiro be able to talk to guests or will he be stasis? PLEASE let him be able to talk to guests.
Will there be a Baymax and Hiro meet and greet at the Disneyland Resort as well ?
