We have learnt that in the film Varun spoofs Ranbir Kapoor’s hit song Badtameez Dil from the film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Sumith, a student of Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL), Kuntikan here h as performed well in the JEE-main examination scoring 320 out of 360 marks to emerge as topper in the districts of coastal Karnataka.
The candidates eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2014 will have to register on http://jeeadv.nic.in for the next stage. 
The resgistration process for JEE Advanced will begin for students who have qualified JEE Mains from May 4 and will go on till May 9.  
This year the cut-off for Common Merit List (CML) for JEE Advanced is 115 marks. Similarly, the cut-off for OBC and scheduled caste category students is 74 and 53 respectively. Cut off for ST category students is 47. Those students who got respective cut-off marks or above in the particular category have cleared the exam. 
Some 2,000 students from the city have found a place amongst top 1.5 lakh students who have qualified the exam. These students will get a chance to appear in the JEE-Advanced. Those clearing the JEE Advanced will be able to reserve a seat for themselves in premier IITs including IIT-Kanpur. 
Several students cheered up on seeing their Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Main results that were declared by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Saturday. There were many others who could not crack the exam. The top 1.5 lakh students (including all categories) selected in JEE Main will appear in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Advanced.
Udupi district police have affected a major breakthrough by nabbing Biju, a Kerala based owner of the large cache of explosives that they seized in the run up to Lok Sabha polls. 
The JEE exam was objective in nature and the students had to solve the Maths, Physics and Chemistry questions in a stipulated time period. The students had to jot down their answers in the Optical Response Sheets that were provided to them.
In the post lunch session, Mathematics Part I, Aptitude Test Part-II and Drawing Test Part-III. A large number of students had come to Kanpur from Lucknow, Allahabad, Sitapur, Etawah, Barabanki, Unnao and other neighbouring districts. For these students, exam was hectic due to travelling and it being a hot day. 
Around 27,000 students appeared in the exam at 40 exam centres in the city. Parents and the guardians of the aspirants had come to exam centres after the conclusion of the JEE Mains. This rush was seen after both the rounds of exam. The exam was held from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2 pm to 5 in the evening.  
In order to ensure that no \'Munnabhai\' appears in this premier exam, left hand thumb impression of the students was taken. This was done to cross check the identity of the students. Also the 12th passed out students were asked to produce the admit card of the class 12th exam.
The students deliberated amongst the groups that the three hour time given to solve the questions was not enough. Students also highlighted that the questions on Maths and Chemistry were average but they remained engrossed in solving the Physics questions. 
The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Mains conducted by CBSE passed off successfully. The students coming out of the exam centres after appearing in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Mains debated that Physics portion was tough and the questions were tricky. This made the question paper lengthy. 
The exam will be held in two shifts. The first shift is from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. The students willing to take admission in the B.Tech course will appear in the exam in the first shift. The students who have to take admission in the B.Arch and B Planning course will have to appear in the second shift to be held between 2 pm to 5 pm. 
The students would be asked questions based on subjects Maths, Physics and Chemistry. The students will not be allowed to carry any electronic gadget including mobiles, calculators inside the examination form to maintain the discipline.
