I don't like Twilight. I find the characters shallow; the plot boring and cliche; and the hidden messages frightening. But in the hands of another may-akda - someone who wouldn't let their religious upbringing, their misogynistic views, and their twisted romantic ideals colour the story - it could have been really fantastic.

First off, the grammar would have to be fixed. The purple prose minimised and the pangkalahatang Pagsulat polished up.

Next the characters would have to be made realistic, their actions have an effect on the plot, and their history an effect on them.

Take Rosalie, for example. If Rosalie's...

Okay, i decided to write a critical analysis of a character from the twilight series. My first choice would have been to do one on Bella Swan, but there is already a whole spot dedicated to that, so i decided on my segundo choice: Edward Cullen. So I hauled out all my Twilight books and combed through them, analyzing and taking notes. Please leave a comment on my critical analysis telling me what you think, what you agree on and what you disagree on. Please no nasty comments. Enjoy!

Okay, number one...one of the reasons Twilight is so dramatic and sometimes just plain depressing is because...

{edited, added some stuff, just an informal consideration of a few of the arguments that support the accusation}

"Bella sisne is a sociopath."

It’s an extreme statement, to be sure. However, it’s not one to be dismissed offhand, without consideration towards its arguments.

First, here are a couple definitions of the term sociopath.
-Random House Dictionary:
a person, as a psychopathic personality, whose behavior is antisocial and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience.
-American Heritage Dictionary of Cultural Literacy:
Someone whose social behavior is extremely abnormal....

Please no Jacob hate. Thx:)

Lyrics:
One madami body left all alone[Jacob is left sa pamamagitan ng Bella]
She's made another puso her home[Bella choosing Edward]
Lost between the sea and the sky
An angel learning how to fly[i think this is how Bella is learning to adjust to her new vampire-self or Jacob learning to cope with the situation]

She floats above our bodies asleep in their graves
Dancing in the moonlight glow[i feel like this is Bella once Jacob is dead. Shes like dancing because she is content with her life?]

(I can't have her, save me from her)[repeated throughout song....

Q: What to Edward and a pasko puno have in common?
A: Their balls are for decoration.

Bella: You're pale white and ice cold...I know what you are.
Edward: Say it. Say it!
Bella: Vanilla Ice Cream!

Edward: Bella...
Bella: Yes?
Edward: I just want to know how much you mean to me.
Bella: Aaw...
Edward: You know, what with me being an ancient VIRGIN vampire and everything...
Bella: Yeah?
Edward: Well, people were starting to think I was, y'know-
Bella: Gay?
Edward: ...
Edward: Old fashioned.
Bella: ...
Bella: Oh.

Q: How do you kill a brain?
A: Put it in the same room with Ms Meyer and her books and wait for two minutes.

Q: What did bella say when the shops ran low off the glitter?
A: yeeew!!! Edward you suck!!!!
Preface:
I have read all books and seen the movies.
Most importantly, the fact that it’s pantasiya doesn’t excuse the themes and messages in the book. Fiction is merely a vehicle humans developed to communicate important lessons, values and philosophies. I am not claiming any of the implications I discuss were intentional on SMeyer’s part. Whether or not the may-akda or readers are aware of it, though, the Twilight series communicates dangerous messages about what is acceptable or admirable or desirable.
Also, I highly recommend link. It’s long, but fascinating and deeper than the books themselves....

Number 1: Someone tells you or he admits that he has hit women in the past. He has talked about his killing sprees, he has killed another woman (Yes, she is a vampire. Who cares?) in front of her. Check!

Number 2: He refers to all women he has dated in the past with derogatory terms. He may also refer to his mother using such terms as well. Not sure about checking this one or not. He says she is the first one he dated, but then he talks of Tanya,...

1. In Twilight, the "romance" as they call it is just there from the beginning. In Percy Jackson and the Olympians (We'll call it PJO), the Percy-Annabeth relationship was apparent from the start, but built up until the halik in Battle of The Labryrinth and eventually their relationship began in The Last Olympian.
2. In Battle Of The Labryrinth, Percy ran into Greek mythology's equivilent to vampires: the empousai. These were ugly creatures who had flaming hair, one goat leg, one metal leg, fangs, were deadly poisonous, and usually disguised themselves as mean cheerleaders. In Twilight, the...

- Yes i know this is extremely late but i just remebered what i was going to write :)

I was brought with my mam and sister to new moon on the 20th of November. Personally i was'nt really bothered about going or not so i went so at least i would be able to say what i think about it.
The movie started at 7 and and at 6:20 there was at least 60 people waiting in the cinema most of them girls from the ages of about 10 to 55 many people at the back of the line were pushing to the front without mercy, squishing the others.
(Oh i must remind ye that i live in ireland and at the moment only girls from...

The Harry Potter vs Twilight war is a huge phenomenon in the literary world. We have artikulo floating around in the Internet (even in CAT) where both camps vehemently defend their fandoms. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, but today, I am not going to take sides. How it started, and how it evolved in a full-scale clash between fans of both series is something I would cover in this article.

It started off with a few websites claiming Twilight is the new Harry Potter. Harry Potter fans, of course, would not take it sitting down, and they wrote artikulo with reasons why Harry Potter is better than...

So I was originally going to ilathala this artikulo in the Books to Read spot, but then found this place, and I think it fits in here much better :) Anywho, this is an opinion artikulo I originally wrote for my school newspaper. Yes, it's a bit of a rant, but I don't mean to be offensive, so please don't take it that way. Enjoy :)

--------------------------

There’s no way you haven’t heard of it. From the first publishing of that first book to the most kamakailan perfume-bottle scandal, Twilight has permeated the very core of pop culture, not to mention high school conversation. No matter whether...

Well, I'm a Twilight fan, but I like to be critical of the series anyways. But recently, I discovered that a lot of the Twi-hater fanbase (or hatebase?) has been consisted of mostly people who have only seen the movies, and I instantly saw how there were so many Twi-haters.

Let me just start off sa pamamagitan ng saying that the movie sucks a**, and I'm being NICE! The pagganap is terrible, they cut out about half the book and completely interpreted the book in all the wrong ways, the script sounded like it had been written sa pamamagitan ng a five taon old, and the actors portrayed the characters so poorly, I almost became...

Disclaimer: The pamagat of the artikulo may seem to be a bit strange, as most of my artikulo that I have posted on here are usually issues I have with the Twilight Saga, but I decided that myself as an anti, wanted to write about things I actually do like about the series. Guarantee, I actually do think Stephanie Meyer did create some characters in this series, and I just wanted to listahan my tuktok 8. This will be in no particular order.

Jasper Hale

If hypothetically, I were to meet the Cullen, I would think that Jasper would be the only one I probably be remotely afraid of in any sort of way. Or...

Okay, so I just wrote an artikulo called "Bella Swan: A Rant", and it seems a lot people liked it, which mad me glad! But I've deicided to write an artikulo about Jacob Black, one of the most loved, yet hated characters in the twilight saga
--

Now, what I don't get is why so many people (Especially Edward lovers) hate the guy so much. Okay, yes, he can be selfish, but he was so kind and sweet in New Moon to Bella. He helped her when no one else could, and started to make her smile and laugh again. I really loved him in New Moon(more than Edward, that's for sure.) And to say I was ticked off when...

In The Twilight Saga, 'la tua cantante' seems very little explained, and, personally, I'm not going to wait for SMeyer to answer the tanong herself and dilute the whole phenomenon with her signature 'SMeyer Science'.
Disclaimer:
This theory is the speculation of an untrained, inexpert child; I may be incorrect, I may not be. The purpose of this artikulo is to broaden the field for speculation, intelligent discussion, or correction on the blood that sings.

Here Goes:

This doesn't require very much knowledge of the basic anatomy of blood; all you need to know is that it carries important stuff...

2.Animal Blood can be drank sa pamamagitan ng Bampira but they prefer human blood in Interview with a Vampire AND Twilight soon followed this way

I'm not really sure if this is a good place to post this article. However, it is the though-provoking spot that has to do with twilight, and sa pamamagitan ng looking at the title, you can tell this is for sure not a good artikulo to put on the Twilight Spot.
Unless I want to get attacked of course.

A few months ago, a very famous horror writer, Stephen King, criticized Stephanie Meyer and the Twilight Saga. If you don't know Stephen King, he is a very known and famous horror writer. Some of his popular books are Carrie, The Shining, It, the Dark Tower Series, and plenty of more. Stephen King had sinabi about...

I’ve read many lists pointing out Twilight “Plot Holes”, but madami often than not, the lists aren’t very valid at all. Half of them are usually just complaints, pointing out something they don’t like about Twilight (Example:” Why would Bampira go to high school?”, or “Why does Bella have so many friends?”). The rest are just factually incorrect, or can be logically theorized. These are usually followed sa pamamagitan ng “Stephenie Meyer obviously ditched history class”, or “Hasn’t Stephenie ever heard of logic?”, or my personal favorite, “I would know, I had a lesson about it...

I am totally ignoring Breaking Dawn in this because Stephenie Meyer broke all the rules in there. [Vampires cant have children, they have no body fluids, etc etc]
Reasons i think Jacob is better for Bella than Edward is:
1. Edward/Bellas relationship is based on appearance. She is constantly talking about how good he looks, how velvety his voice is, how graceful he is, etc. She sinabi Jacob was beautiful once or twice and called his new muscles impressive once or that she is jealous of his tan skin. She thinks Edward is too good for her because she looks plain susunod to him. She thinks Jacob is too...

After pagbaba the post "Bella as a heroine should be illegal" sa pamamagitan ng bendaimmortal, it got me thinking. Obviously, no-one would consider Bella sisne a heroine. If you do, you have got a really great deal of imagination, or a warped sense of the world. Because, and I'm sure most Twilight fans would agree, the girl didn't do anything at all. Save being overly dramatic and being the damsel in distress.

What about the Cullens then? What about Carlisle, Alice, Esme, Jasper, Rosalie and Emmett? What about He-Who-Sparkles-In-Broad-Daylight? Would they be considered heroes/heroines?

No.

I say that the Cullens...
