Before I begin I would like to make a public apology to all my fellow DP fans. It has been a difficult taon for me, and I haven’t been doing very well with keeping up with my icon contests, especially this one. Thus, only about half of the months were finished. I am very sorry, and I have made some adjustments that should help me do a better job of staying accountable. Thank you for understanding.
Now, with that aside, I am pleased and honored to announce the Icon that you fellow DP fans voted, out of countless entries, the best Icon of 2014!

I am also proud to announce the segundo and third best Icons of 2014!
2nd place goes to fanlovver with her icon “Can You Paint with all the mga kulay of the Wind?”
And last but not least, in 3rd place came “I See the Light” created sa pamamagitan ng euny!

Congratulations to the three winners, as well as the countless other participants! All the icons were amazing!

As you can see in the screenshot at the bottom of the article, some interesting things went down. There was originally a tie between fanlovver’s icon, and snsdlover4ever’s icon. I had to do a tie breaker, which was still very close, and when it ended snsdlover4ever’s icon won at 53% and fanlovver’s at 48%!

Q: When did you join?
A: I joined on the first araw of January in the taon 2014 (which seems like it's been ages for me ><)

Q: Why did you join?
A: Since I'm an avid kpop fan, I noticed that the forums on my then-favorite kpop group were full of activity and people who were into the same stuff I was in. It seemed like a new and fun experience for me to try.

Q: How did you pick your username?
A: I went with the first name I thought of. Girls Generation, or SNSD for short, was my paborito group and I thought they would still be my favorites today. Now that I think about it, I wish I had thought of a better username.

Q: What is your paborito Princess?
A: I'm very fickle when it comes to choosing a paborito out of the Princesses, mainly because of the many, MANY discussions/debates that other users have instigated. They usually bring out a new perspective of a certain Princess that I never seemed to notice. I'd say I'm fairly neutral about all of them; I view them all as characters that strive for perfection, but are stopped sa pamamagitan ng a major flaw of theirs, which I think is relatable to me in a sense.

~ About the icon: ~

Q: What program did you use?
A: I only used Pixlr Express. Out of all the things I've made, this one was the simplest and easiest icon I've ever made.

Q: How did you name it?
A: Since Ariel was breaking out of the ocean, I thought it would be a suitable name.

Q: Is it a paborito of yours?
A: I'd say it is. I honestly thought that there were other icons that had better quality than what I had made, but I'm grateful that people actually enjoyed the simplicity of it.

Q: What gave you the idea?
A: During summer, I had a phase where I would edit lots and lots of screencaps, so I stumbled upon this one and decided to use it, and threw in some overlays. I then decided that I wanted to ibigay it as an entry for your contest, since I actually had time to partake in it.

Q: Are you going to keep entering icons?
A: Hopefully I can. I can tell that I've gotten much better at making them, and it's always been fun to make them once in a while. The only things that get in the way are my laziness to scroll through tons of screencaps, and the fact that Fanpop has ruined the desktop version on my phone.

Q: How long have you been making icons?
A: A little less than a year.

Q: What was your first one? & Can you describe it?
A: Well, I made a nagyelo edit based on the scene with the reprise of FTFTIF. The only thing I can say to describe it is that it turned out better than I thought it would.

Q: What is your favorite?
A: I'm not too sure what my paborito icon is. I've made lots, so it's hard to choose just one.

Q: How are you feeling about winning Icon of the year?
A: I still feel overwhelmed and grateful that I chose to enter in the contest. I'm glad I took this opportunity, and after some stiff competition, I'm thankful to all of the users of the DP club, since this is where I started editing, and I don't think I'll ever stop.
