"The bulaklak that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of them all."
"The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of them all."
So while there are a lot of great things that are pointed out about the movie Mulan, there are also things that I haven't seen pointed out yet so I wanted to share.

1. Realistic Representation of Culture: I pag-ibig that it is not over-Americanized and mostly stays true to Chinese and Asian culture. The most American part of the film is the fact that she thinks she can take a man's place in the army. That and Grandmother Fa's comments in general. Other than that, the movie is pretty accurate to her culture. I find this important because I don't understand the point of ipinapakita a different culture without ipinapakita the cultural differences. To me, that seems madami offensive then not attempting to ipakita that culture at all. Basically, I'd rather not be represented than misrepresented.

2. Words of Wisdom and Value of the Self/Independent along with the Collective Community: "One single grain of kanin can tip the scale. One man may be the difference between victory and defeat." What a great message. I know many people who feel like their one voice isn't enough but this was a great way to conceptualize why we need to keep communicating with each other and standing for what we believe in.
"One single grain of kanin can tip the scale. One man may be the difference between victory and defeat."
"One single grain of kanin can tip the scale. One man may be the difference between victory and defeat."

3. Mulan's Femininity: Despite Mulan's flaws (clumsiness, forgetfulness, laziness and tardiness), she is still a very feminine and nurturing character. A great example is the beginning of the film when she reminds her father "the doctor sinabi 3 cups of tsaa in the morning and 3 cups of tsaa in the evening". She really values her family and is very loyal. She genuinely wants to make her father proud. This is something that I would hope that most children would get to relate to, wanting to make their good and loving parents proud. She only leaves because she sees that her father is so elderly and weak (he is a veteran) that if he went, he would surely die in battle. It is her feminine nurturing that initially pushes her to take her father's place. I also pag-ibig her father's masculinity and sense of honor, duty and respect. One of my paborito lines is when he tells her "I know my place. It is time that you've learned yours." Also sa pamamagitan ng the end of the film, she seems madami feminine than she did at the beginning. madami graceful, polite and respectful. She even does bring honor to her family as a woman when Li Shang shows up at her house at the end. (Clearly to start courting her.)

"The bulaklak that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of them all."
"The bulaklak that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of them all."

4. Tough pag-ibig Songs with Words of Wisdom that teach about Men and Life:
A) Bring Honor To Us All -
Another culture point: The women in Asia are just as honest and realistic about what men want as the men. I pag-ibig that the women are the ones giving Mulan the payo which shows that in their culture, the mothers would tell the daughters what the best men care about. I also pag-ibig the bluntness: Mulan says "It's so cold" about the bathwater to which her mother responds, "It would have been warm if you were here on time." I have full respect for the accountability and responsibility in this culture and find it to be very inspiring. I pag-ibig that the mother doesn't allow for excuses. The only thing that stands out to me in a bad way is that realistically, the mother would have scolded Mulan for cheating and made her wash the notes off her arm. I also pag-ibig the foreshadowing of A Girl Worth Fighting For with "Boys will gladly go to war for you." proving that the women were accurate and honest the whole time, genuinely trying to help Mulan. I also pag-ibig that Disney showed respect to the culture sa pamamagitan ng including the reason for this emphasis in gender roles: "We all must serve our Emperor who guards us from the Huns. The men sa pamamagitan ng bearing arms, a girl sa pamamagitan ng bearing sons." Times were hard back then and yes, women were expected to get married and reproduce but at the same time the men were expected to give their lives and go to war. This leads almost to like a part 2 or male version:

B) A Girl Worth Fighting For - These men are walking into a battle knowing that they are up against a ruthless enemy that is viscous and merciless. This is a very scary thing to face as all wars are. They are basically walking into a situation where they only have a 50% chance of living. As a woman, I find it incredibly complimenting that those men think of "good women" as worth giving their lives for. This is also why it is so important that the females reciprocate for the men sa pamamagitan ng trying to make tahanan life as peaceful as possible since war is the opposite. Hence they give their own personal descriptions of "a girl worth fighting for". This is of course a far madami average view and it is clear that Mulan is not average. When she says "How about a girl who's got a brain and always speaks her mind?" and all of the men in unison respond "Nah!" represents that Mulan isn't just an average woman so she's not going to be what an average man wants. She is smarter and madami outspoken than most girls which is why she gets the General's attention and not just one of the soldiers. Of course, even he wants and deserves for her to balance these qualities with respect and peace for their relationship, as any man would. It's just that he can handle a smarter and madami outspoken woman better than the average man could since he is better than the average man.

C) I'll Make A Man Out Of You - This might be my absolute paborito song in the film. The focuses Li Shang gives the men are: Discipline and Strength. Rarely do men get the credit for the positives of masculinity anymore nor does masculinity get celebrated in any way but here, it does. Not only do we see the hard work and intense training that these men are put through but we see it's effect on character. Where we see this the most, is in fact Mulan's character. When she decides to really dig down deep and really put herself in there with the guys, is when she truly finds herself. She's not as clumsy and she's far madami confident. This is one of my paborito Disney character arcs of all time. Mulan didn't cheat, she didn't make excuses, she pushed herself and challenged herself to overcome the obstacles that faced her. In the beginning of the film she would not have won Li Shang's attention if the matchmaker had introduced them but after this segment is where he started to respect her. She earned the respect of her superior and her peers and that is the most admirable and encouraging part of the film for me. (When Mulan first arrived, she sinabi "I don't think I can do this." Clearly she proved herself wrong.) Also I like how it starts with Yao talking back to Li Shang sa pamamagitan ng saying "Ooh... Tough guy." and Li Shang singles Yao out as a "volunteer" ipinapakita the lack of tolerance in the military. (And of course Yao's "I'll get the arrow, pretty boy. And I'll do it with my sando on!" ipinapakita the male competitiveness.)

5. Mulan is Intelligent: During the "Honor To Us All" song, she helps a man out in what looks to be a checkers/chess type game. Another great foreshadowing ipinapakita her strategy skills that come into play later in the battle scenes.

6. Mulan is Modest: The scene where Mushu says "My eyes can see straight through your armor." and Mulan slaps him is a great comical way of ipinapakita this.

7. Mulan does ipakita the reality of gender differences despite the misleading of Mulan's character pulling off this great stunt: The scenes where Mulan is practicing with her male voice and trying to think of how to fit in as a guy are priceless! Also when Mulan arrives at the camp, she refers to the men as "disgusting" to which Mushu responds "No, they're men..." I don't think men are disgusting but again, this was a comical way to ipakita the differences between men and women. (Especially in 1998 when feminists were claiming that there were no differences between the genders other than body parts. We now know thanks to science there are countless differences in the brain, chemical make up, outlook/perception, etc.) Also ipinapakita the discipline of the military which, at that time, only men dealt with. (i.e. When Mulan makes a scene, the entire group of soldiers gets punished.)

8. Beautiful Teamwork Lessons: With the decrease in sports and outdoor play going on currently in America, it is always refreshing to see such positive scenes of teamwork. In the military, there is no room for prejudices or other internal conflicts because they are facing a greater external enemy. I pag-ibig the emphasis of teamwork and how it teaches that our actions and choices do effect other people so we need to be smart about the choices we make. This is shown so greatly in all of the training and battle scenes. My paborito example of this is when Mulan is sent packing because she failed in the army but instead of giving up, she climbed the pole and her victory became the team's victory. She earned the respect of all of her peers and they were genuinely proud of her for accomplishing this goal. This is my paborito scene of the film. Another great line is when they come face to face with the Huns for the first time and Li Shang says "Prepare to fight. If we die, we die with honor." Talk about teamwork, you can't run from that.

9. How Different a Female Competitor and a Female Interest Are: I like that they showed at the end when Li Shang wasn't really sure how to be around Mulan after she had just been pretending to be a man for so long. This is shown with his line "You fight good." though he clearly wanted to say something else. I pag-ibig that the Emperor, as an older and wiser man, sees this and points out to Li Shang to go after the one-of-a-kind girl he found and reminds him that he is a man and should pursue this unique catch.
 "You fight good."
"You fight good."

It's been almost two months since I joined this club and wrote my first article, based on my listahan of paborito Disney Princesses and boy has my listahan changed. First, this is my opinion's and I know they're not that popular, but try to respect them, and two, I pag-ibig all the princesses, so even number 11 has a special place in my heart. Anyway let's get started.

11. Merida

Sigh, I honestly don't want to put Merida here, because I pag-ibig her so much. Sadly, I just can't put her any higher. I actually really like her spunky personality and her pag-ibig for her family. I find her relationship with her dad...

Congratulations to jainabieber7- our F.O.T.M. for FEBRUARY!

1) How does it feel to be tagahanga of the month?

It feels awesome! I've only been here since November so It's a surprise to already be F.O.T.M.

2) Who is your favourite princess and why?

My paborito Princess is Rapunzel. I just really pag-ibig her optimistic attitude, and she's always so happy. We're a lot alike in our personalities. I pag-ibig how she proved how really strong she was at the end when she stood up to Gothel and tried to leave the tower. She's a wonderful person, IMO.

3) Who is your least favourite princess and why?

My least favorite...

I just recently saw the artikulo KataraLover made about a taon ago. Since some of you have been posting such nice comments to me, I wanted to do this. I won't say too much because I don't truly know anyone here. And if you're not on here, it's not because I don't like you or anything, I was going to do madami but couldn't think of anything so I just stopped. Some I didn't say much about. Sorry I suck at this. I'm such a fail, here is my ''unfinished'' article.

Another updated list, well hope you'll like it :)

10. Pocahontas
Apart from the color and how gorgeous the hair looks when it blows in the wind I don't like her hair, why? Because it looks like paper since it's so thin and I hate hair that looks like paper. But I don't hate Pocahontas' hair since she actually has one hairstyle that I pag-ibig and that's the braided hair which we don't see for so long in the movie, but compared to the loose hair I much prefer that hairstyle even though she looks older with that hairstyle.

9. Mulan
Other than the long and loose hair I don't like her hair that much, it's...

Hi thanks for checking out my artikulo i hope you enjoy it! Before I get started I just wanted to say that these are not ranked on which ones i liked best.

Snow White
My paborito part in Snow White would be where the prince finds Snow White lying in her glass coffin and goes and leans down and gives her a kiss, and then after she wakes up he scopes her up and they go and live happily ever after, this part leaves me all tingly inside(:

Cinderella
My paborito part in Sinderella would be where she is pag-awit "a dream is a wish your puso makes" and all the mga hayop are all chirping and the mice...

I haven't seen anyone doing this kind of listahan so I decided to give it a try. Coming up with a listahan would be annoying because I don't really have one (I have a listahan of my tuktok 3 saddest Disney moments though, but only one of them is from a DP Movie). Most of these are very heartbreaking so anyway here we go!

Snow White's Death/Funeral
This was an obvious choice, I didn't even have to think over my choice. Anyway whenever I watch this scene I want to cry, first of all the music in this scene is incredibly sad, segundo all the dwarfs are crying, the candles are weeping wax, the rain is pouring down...

Author’s Note: Hey Fanpop fans!
Here is another part of my tagahanga fiction “Disney Princess Awards”. I know, it took time to do it! I tried to do it madami interesting. I want to tell you that this part is a little long and madami romantic. I am sorry, but I pag-ibig romantic parts. I want to clarify that to me, Sinderella is the leader of the Disney Princesses. I know that some disagree, but I pag-ibig the idea of Sinderella of been the leader. I hope that you like this part. Have suggestions? Please feel free to add in the comments. Please, write some comments, I want to know your opinions. Enjoy it!...

Long, long ago...in ancient Egypt.... when there was still the green Nile river, as it flowed into the Mediterranean Sea...

lived a beautiful woman named Rhodophis (rohh-dufis) She was actually born in Ancient Greece but was kidnapped sa pamamagitan ng pirates and sold as a slave in Egypt. Her owner was a kind old man who slept in the shadow of a beautiful puno so much that he had not seen Rhodophis being bullied sa pamamagitan ng the other servant girls because she looked different, you could say unique and madami beautiful.

Since the other Egyptian servants (girls) had beautiful, straight black hair, Rhodophis have even...

This actually changed a long time ago, but I realised that I had to write an artikulo with how they are placed now so hope you'll like it :)

10. Pocahontas

I still don't understand why people pag-ibig her voice, it's powerful, but other than that nothing special in my opinion. But her voice has started to grow on me a bit and it might at least beat my number 9, but right now it's only 10.

9. Belle

I pag-ibig Belle, but her voice is nothing special to me, they could've at least choosen someone who was a bit younger, but I mean I still like her voice, but not madami than just a like.

8. Jasmine

I'll just get right to the point.

The Flag:
The flag shown on the ship was not used until at least 100 years after the time the film is set.

.____. I knew something was fishy about that flag....

Poca's hair:
ahh, her hair... Lovely isn't it? How it luciously blows in the wind.... But... Isn't it strange how WELL it blows? I mean... My hair is now almost that legnth, and even when the wind is high, it never gets so much as past my back...
So either that is some pretty WICKED wind, or she has some LIGHT hair... Maybe both.

But, if the wind WERE that crazy, then why doesn't it blow the crap...

I got inspired sa pamamagitan ng starlight77's artikulo so I decided to write my own artikulo about what I think are the best DP homes, it was very hard to choose only 10 homes that where going to make it into here, I really had to think!

10. Atlantica

The only reason to why I placed this one so low is because it's located under water and the disensyo is a bit too simple and it's not as interesting as the other 9 homes. However when we first see it it's glowing and it looks so beautiful, I wished I could live in a kastilyo like this. So pangkalahatang a really beautiful home.

10. Belle
I honestly don't see the apeal to her. I get it a lot of you like her because she has hazel eyes and brown eyes, but I don't think she's that gorgeous. She has some cute shots, but that was all. It's not her fault she was so inconsistently drawn, but I still wouldn't think she's that pretty. Now I have nothing against brunettes or brown eyes, it's just I don't think she was that stunning. And ugh, I've never seen madami horrible hair. The hairline was awkward, and it looks greasy and unhealthy. They did get...

Healing Incantion

This one I have to admit was a very haunting yet touching song especially during the part where Eugene dies in Rapunzel's arms and she sings it to him to see will it bring him back to life again.

What a song I bawled so much when Rapunzel sang it for the last time. And it is sung 6 frigging times in the film.

When will my life begin/reprise

This one was a paborito of mine. Not because of the singer but its one of those songs that you can sing along whenever your wondering about your life and doing your chores and to keep dreaming about when will your life begin. I especially love...

Hmmm well I think I've grown into my name now but I really like some of the names from the Barbie princess movies. They're so unique. I think the one I like the most right now is Delia so I'll go with that. I think Blair would be a close second.

Yeah, wasn't sure how to pamagat this one. Basically, I'm gonna go over the voices of the princesses and why they're top. You can expect some information too including voice actresses.

And yes, if you know/tolerate me, you can expect another thing from me that I'm sure ticks people off, but this is my opinion so...

Prettiest Princess

10. Mulan

Give the girl credit, she dressed like a guy throughout her movie. I think Mulan has some beauty to her, don't get me wrong, but in her culture they consider her beautiful when they splash a bunch of makeup on her face to make her look like a doll. If I recall something her father said...

30. Sinderella - first childhood dress

This dress is somewhat cute, but is definitely not Cinderella's best outfit. The color is nice, but the palda is too puffy and big. Also the sleeves are a bit weird.

It's so...I dunno. I don't really like it. I know it is for a little girl, but still. - ppgbelle4
