I think that's the big thing about Cri-Kee - he really did bring her luck, because if Mulan had succeeded with the matchmaker, she would never have found out who she really was. She would have lived her life as a stereotypical wife, but never been truly happy. So I think the point of that scene is that she was lucky Cri-Kee stopped her from succeeding.

I agree with milky-way, cri-kee ruined her chance to pass. She actually did pretty good, until he came along.

But it was obviously a good thing that he messed up everything.

I think she would have messed up somehow, simply because a part of her didn't really want to pass. She tried, but if she had really been totally behind it, she wouldn't have been late in the first place.
