Exclusive: First Look At Series Premiere of The Lion Guard

finally premieres on Disney Channel (at 9:30 a.m. ET|PT) and we’re pretty excited. We’ve been waiting since the series was announced to finally get to watch it, catch up with our old friends from

, and meet some news ones in the process. Apparently, news of our excitement has gotten around because today we’re lucky enough to get to debut a few minutes of the series premiere for you! In this scene, Kion (Simba and Nala’s son, who is charged with forming a Lion Guard) finds himself in the Outlands where he meets Jasiri, a hyena. While you might be thinking, “Uh oh, hyenas are clearly bad. I’ve seen

,” Jasiri (voiced by Maia Mitchell) is actually friendly, and reminds Kion not to judge a book by its cover.

“Sis Ni Sawa” is Swahili for “We’re all the same,” and if you’re anything like us this song is now stuck in your head.
