How come is it, that so many americans find Hugh Laurie hot? I mean, cause he was in blackadder and i found him very funny, but not hot. So how come Americans like him so much?

I am English, always liked Hugh Laurie , but since he has been in House I find him extremely sexy as both himself and House,
House... he is a great looking guy , wears a pair of jeans or a tux with the same appeal , looks fantastic in an unironed sando or a short sleeved t/shirt ipinapakita his beautiful muscular arms , as House he has a wonderful vunerability about himself ,a very clever wit with a hint of naughty boy behaviour whilst being a genius at what he does , but also has a very appealing sexy demeanour and a wicked flirtacious streak ..everyone loves a hot doc ..

Hugh .. is a wonderful multi-talented guy who is very modest and unbelieving in his own appeal, he also looks good in whatever he wears , has a terrific body which he keeps fit and lithe , gets embarrassed and even shy on occasion which is very appealing , and even negates his own prowess in the bedroom which I find extremely sexy in itself and would pag-ibig to personally test , oh yeh!!!!! both Hugh and House are very sexy for different reasons xx ..look at the guy in the picture , is it House or Laurie , either one is veeeeeeeerry sexy !!!!!!!!

I think a lot of people confuse Hugh and House... (and about being american or not that has nothing to do with it)

House is totally hot! Unshaved, nice combination of clothes, his humour, his attitude.

And yes! It's possible to differ those two "persons" cause Hugh is not House and House is not Hugh, even though they connect cause well... it's Hugh who plays House Xd

I think it's madami his character that makes him so appealing. I didn't think he was hot until House tbh. And also I don't think it's just Americans; I'm British and I think he's hot =D

My POV: Hugh is VERY handsome. House is VERY hot!!! Maybe it's just because House is really sarcastic and usually negative. Hugh is a sweetheart in my book. He could be upgraded to a hottie if he married a certain someone. *coughs* Lisa *coughs* Edelstein. Sorry I have a 'cold'. Lol!!!

Actually during the 1990s Hugh was a bit of a sex symbol in Britain. When he starred in "Maybe Baby" with Joely Richardson they picked him to play the sexy husband and he really pulled it off, he was very athletic and some would say rather hot.
However I think many of us like House the character rather than Hugh, but some project the character onto the actor... I once saw Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings) in the flesh when he camw to New Zealand and I remember being so disappointed - I think I was expecting to see Aragorn rather than Viggo, and though he seemed like a very nice person I was so unimpressed. I think people do that with Hugh/House a bit.

It's to do with the character he plays in House and the way he dresses and/or looks. In Blackadder he was funny, yes, but definitely not hot. Kinda cute and clean shaven with an upper class British accent is how HL used to be: but because of House he spends a lot of time with a beard and messed up hair. Not only has he got better looking with age, but the way he has to look for House makes him hot. Also for me i pag-ibig the American accent on him :P

Many people like him because he plays House and House's personality is so interesting that it makes you fall for him. It's like with Robert Pattinson he got to play Edward Cullen and suddenly he's the hottest man on earth's surface when nobody cared for him when he was in Harry Potter.That is what I think happens to Hugh.
I have to admit that first I didn't like Hugh, but I loved House.Then I noticed his eyes tey were the most beautiful eyes I've seen. Then I started noticing his nose, his beard, his face and what hooked me was his lovely English accent.
I think his hot for a guy his age. I think he's gifted and I absolutely pag-ibig him. Hugh is really charming on interviews and he's fun. Besides what he has been through must not be easy. And he looks better now than back at blackadder and that soooooooo true.
Trust me I don't care if his 35 years older his just hot.

Hugh is madami handsome than hot, to me. He is sweet and funny and I pag-ibig his accent but House...! House is sexy. It's his bad boy personality. Everyone loves the rebelious type of guy. Or at least I do :)

House is the first thing I have seen Hugh in. I think they are both extremely sexy.
House - Super genius and wants to master everything he is passionate about. What is not to pag-ibig about a man that can pretty much tear the body down and put it back together, says anything that comes to his mind and gets sa pamamagitan ng with most of it, can cook you a great supper, can write you a song and then play it, finds all kinds of ways to tell you that you look good, has the cutest lisp and actually has really learned now to open up and be there for his friends, not to mention those gorgeous eyes. What is not to love.
Hugh - So bashful in all the interviews. He is hot for the same reason House is. He has took this role and speaks perfect english, memorized al this medical jargon and delivers it on-screen like he went to medical school and all the while has brought all these layers to this character we know as House and he does this with such ease. He seems very respectful of all the cast and writers around him and knows it is a team effort to make a ipakita great. He seems like he would be reserved like House and withdrawn at times. I pag-ibig the short haircut with the shadow beard and those gorgeous blue eyes. It is the whole man that makes the man hot.

I find both Hugh and House sexy. I'm actually a little shamed of thing, I should look madami at his character,talent, ward-working and genius, not just want to do him :(

It's a taste/preference thing. He's got the scruffy, sarcastic, not really bad-boy not really good-guy thing going for him. And it's not just Americans that think he's hot, everyone (no matter where they're from) that's attracted to that type of guy think he's hot.

He's popular here in America because of House; House himself and the ipakita in general. I'm an American. I like House. I don't think either House or Hugh are "hot."

I really don't find Hugh Laurie hot. I think he is intelligent, a brilliant actor and funny but not hot. Well it depends in each one likes in men, but he isn't my type. But talking about hot people I think Jesse Spencer is really hot!

We like him because he is complicated like most of us. He has issues like most of us. He is so damn intelligent like most of us wish we could be. We admire that he is so intelligent that he is untouchable. He can say any damn thing he wants to and can get away with it! That's why we like him. :)
