My Theory as to of Which Fairy Tale Character Sheriff Graham is the Real World Counterpart CONFIRMED

EDIT: As of episode seven, The puso is a Lonely Hunter, we now know that Sheriff Graham was, indeed, the Huntsman. Hooray for everyone who guessed right!

We haven't been told yet who is Sheriff Graham's fairy tale counterpart (or rather, who he really is), but I strongly suspect that he is the Huntsman from the Snow White fairy tale. To refresh your memory, in the fairy tale, the Huntsman was ordered sa pamamagitan ng the reyna to take Snow White out into the forest, cut out her puso (or her liver, tongue or other internal organ, depending on the version) and bring it back to her as proof that Snow White was dead. However, when they got to the forest and the Huntsman took out his kutsilyo to kill her, Snow White fell to her knees and pleaded for her life. The Huntsman, touched sa pamamagitan ng her pleas, spared her life, telling her to run away and never come back. After she did so, he killed a wild bulugan (or dog, again depending on the version of the story), cut out its puso and brought that back to the reyna as proof. The reyna believed him, ate the puso and that was that. The Huntsman doesn't appear again in the story, but I'd assume that the reyna was none too pleased when she found out he'd tricked her.

Anyway, I have a few reasons for believing Sheriff Graham is the self-same Huntsman:

1. The Evil reyna obviously trusts him enough to put him in a position of authority in Storybrooke (the sheriff), and she immediately goes to him both times Henry disappears. This suggests that he was a trusted, relied-upon henchman in the Enchanted Forest, although how reliable a man is who disobeys and tricks you in the little matter of killing Snow White is debatable.

2. A comment he made to Emma about how he locates criminals or missing persons the makaluma way ("pounding the pavement" were his words) makes me think he has tracking skills, which would make sense if he were a huntsman.

3. The one thing that put the idea into my head, of Sheriff Graham being the real world version of the Huntsman, was the scene in which the Evil Queen, followed sa pamamagitan ng her henchmen, sweeps into the room where Charming, cradled in the arms of Snow White, is lying injured on the floor and asks where the baby is. One of her henchmen ang sumagot that Charming placed her in the magical wardrobe and that she is gone. We don't see what this henchman looks like, being that, like all her other henchmen, he's head-to-toe in black, but his voice seemed oddly familiar, and after a moment I thought "That sounds like Sheriff Graham, only madami guttural." That's when it flashed upon me that that henchman was the Huntsman, and that the Huntsman's real world counterpart was Sheriff Graham.

The writers have sinabi that we will learn to whom Sheriff Graham is the real world counterpart, so we'll have to just wait and see, but I strongly believe he is the Huntsman.

sokica yes. the voices match i am more interested to know who henry's dad is. i will put money someone on regina's payroll a spell. she has the grandkid as a bargaininf chip in the final battle

CelestialDream I been trying to figure out who he was also. Your theory seems to be quite well founded. It would make sense for him to be from Snow White's Fairy Tale rather then say a different one. I'm not a big fan of that fairy tale so I actually completely forgot about him. Good theory.

FlightofFantasy ^ Yeah, I considered that, too. It sounds like she intentionally gave him a good position in Storybrooke because he was a trusted henchman in the fairy tale world.

D_J267 I agree, the henchman was the first thing that came to my mind too, the only other characters I could think of for him to be was one of the princes from the Cinderella/Seeping Beauty stories or Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk, but I don't think any of these would fit in to who he is in the real world.

FlightofFantasy ^ I've heard some people theorize that he is the Big Bad Wolf, but I don't think there's as much evidence for that as for the Huntsman idea. I've talked to a lot of people who also think that Graham is the Huntsman, and we all have the same reasons for thinking so, so the fact that so many people arrived at the same conclusion independently of one another makes me think it's probably the right one. But I guess we'll have to wait and see!

CelestialDream ^The Wolf theory isn't a bad idea either since the name Graham refers to a homestead which well befits the Big Bad Wolf. Plus Henry mentions when people try to leave Storybrooke things always happen (which makes me wonder how was Henry able to leave?) So for the Sheriff to find Emma seemed a little odd because no one was there so who would report it and assuming most people don't try to leave town anymore anyone coming across her seems unlikely. But then again he could have just happened to be patroling the town and came across her that way I guess. But your right Huntsman makes much more sense. From what we've seen of him personality wise he doesn't strike me as the Wolf. He seems more likely to be conflicted by his loyalty to the queen vs. helping the protagonists. As opposed to the Wolf who we don't often really see potrayed as a good guy (unless you count movies like Shrek or something).

luvnlifebabe95 I may be completely off on this theory, but if you look at all of the wallpapers, he is always in them. Granted, he is one of the only characters that we have been introduced, but so far, he really hasn't had a big part, so I got to thinking that he is really important... and also, the wolf is in one of the wallpapers too, but I wasn't sure if that meant anything or not.

FlightofFantasy That's a good point, CelestialDream. Maybe Sheriff Graham WAS just on a routine patrol when he came across Emma, but that wolf in the road was kinda random, and I'm assuming Graham came across her shortly thereafter.... luvnlifebabe95, I wondered about that, too. We were introduced to many characters in the pilot alone, but only a few of them have been in the posters. The fact that Graham has been in a lot of the posters suggests that, even though he didn't have a big part in the pilot, he will become very important down the line. That's actually another of the reasons I think he's the Huntsman. Since the story so far seems to be mostly about the Snow White fairy tale, it would make sense for the main characters to be from that particular fairy tale, which is the case so far. It'd be kind of random for a probably-very-important character such as the Sheriff to be from a completely different fairy tale.

luvnlifebabe95 After watching the episode last night... it seems like the sherriff is sort of playing both sides, if that makes sense... it seems like he is a good guy but that the queen has something on him that makes him do what she says. and then I think, if i remember correctly that she even said to him in the episode " don't forget that I was the one that made you sherriff and I can take it away just as easily" or something like that. and also, not completely on the subject of the sherriff, but we were introduced to the infamous magic mirror. To me, he would seem like he would've been more of a trustworthy person to take back into the "other" world with. I would think that the queen wouldv'e made the magic mirror into a human on the requests that he would be ever loyal to her. and then that made me think that perhaps the mirror was the sherriff, but the voices didn't quite match up... I don't know, lol maybe this theory is just my imagination running off with itself as usual

CelestialDream ^We actually already met the mirror last episode. He was the man with the newspaper who aproached Regina when she was tending to her apple tree. Mariesie I think this character is too important to have a minor role like the huntsman. When I was watching this week's episode I thought about Robin Hood. He is ambiguous and we are not sure if he is good or bad, I think he is too rough to be a prince, and I think the queen made him sheriff to replace the original sheriff of Nottingham in the Robin Hood story. He has an accent? What do you think?

BonnieBfan I think he is the huntsman as well.I just did a rewatch and Snow White mentions him(the huntsman) when she is talking to Charming. And says of him(the huntsman) some royals do have a heart as he let her go so yes I think heis the huntsman.

FlightofFantasy Robin Hood, that's an interesting theory, one which I hadn't previously considered. I can kinda see that. But I still think he's the Huntsman.

bjart_evarinya I totally agree on this, since the first episode I just couldn't put my finger on who he is but I think you're right. It makes perfect sense and in episode 7, The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter, IMDB says, "One of the town's residents begins to remember their fairytale past, and Storybrooke mourns the loss of one of their own... " While TV.com says, "One of Storybrooke's residents remembers *his* real past, while the town mourns a death. Meanwhile, in the fairytale world, the Queen attempts to find someone who will kill Snow White for her." Also TV.com has a couple pictures from the episode and Sheriff Graham is in them both. Plus the name (The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter) makes you think of when Snow White is almost killed. I truly think this episode will at least start to tell us more about him.
