Does any body ever notice that when they go back to play their old games, the save thing is messed up?

Never had the old games, though my friend let me play Green once. Yeah, saving was hard to do. And what was really sad was that I'd evolved his Wartortle into Blastoise, and his Ekans into Arbok, and then when I tried to save, it wouldn't let me. So I had to turn it off.
