I am often starting to be a tagahanga of something but If you are tagahanga of somebody/something there can always be a situation when you will want to stop it. Lets be honest. It often happens with me and I am sure a lot of people have had situation like that or something simmilar. But then you start to feel distracted. You don't know what to start with. Maybe you are even afraid of, for exmple, how others would take it. But don't worry. Here are a short guide that will help you to stop being a tagahanga easy and fast.
Step 1. Understanding.
So you just understood that you don't like this thing anymore? Lets think about it. Do you really want to stop? Won't you feel bad after it. Actually it is just theorical part of stopping being a tagahanga but it is important. You don't want to throw all your merchandise out and then cry and shout "I want it all back. I still pag-ibig it." Think twice before doing susunod steps.
Step 2. Big trashcan.
It is the most important and a quite symbolic step. You take everything off. All the posters, all little tagahanga things you have around you. Take everything away. It has symbolic meaning. Getting rid of obsession, of being a fan. Then throw everything out. EVERYTHING. Rip all the printouts, old posters. Get rid of all that. You are starting a new life. Congratulate yourself.
Step 3. Things that are worth money.
Probably you have something like CD's, DVD's, books, T-shirts, cups etc. Things that you have paid a money for and they are still worth it. You can throw them out of course but better idea is to just sell them. Maybe someone who is a tagahanga of a thing you are stopping to be a tagahanga of will buy them. Things are used so you won't probably sell them for the same price you bought them but anyway... Maybe your cousin likes them? Give them to him. Also you can donate things if you want. Poor people will be happy about almost new T-shirts even with you ex-idol pic on them.
Step 4. Digital cleaning.
Take your phone, tablet, computer and other devices and alisin everything like music files, pics. It also may have symbolic meaning and you will get a lot of free puwang in your computers memory. Clean all you social networks profiles. Maybe you have facebook banner with your ex-idols pic. Change it! Unfollow it. Unsubscribe channels in youtube. alisin thematic boards in pinterest. Stop being a tagahanga of clubs in fanpop and other fanclubs.
Step 5. Let the world know it.
Stopped being a tagahanga of Justin Bieber but some months later your godmother gives you a cup with his pic on it for christmas, thinking that you still like him? Don't let it happen. Tell everybody that you are stopping being a fan. Write an arcticle in internet like I did. Tell it to your family and friends. Let them know.
Step 6. Start a new life.
Its the best part. You can find a new thing to be a tagahanga of. You can simply enjoy your freedom :) Remember, stopping being a tagahanga is good thing and you don't have to be ashamed because it oppens you to new opportunities, new things to like. Just be happy and proud of yourself about liking what you like and disliking what you dislike and if somebody says things like "How could you stop being his fan?I hate you for it. You ruined our friendship." Remember that you can do whatever you want and its your life no matter what others say.
