fans. EW can exclusively reveal that Amy Brenneman will reprise her role as Marie de Guise in an episode in the show’s upcoming third season.

As a refresher, the last time we saw Mary’s mother, she revealed her secret: She’s dying. But it seems she’s not dead yet, which is a good thing considering that Mary could really use her mother right now, what with her husband dying and her mother-in-law teaming up with Queen Elizabeth. 

Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the where and when of Marie de Guise’s return — might Mary visit her in Scotland? — nor do we know what physical state she’ll be in. But if you ask us, the more Marie, the better.
