Skye (Chloe Bennet) was revealed to be an Inhuman, a super powered race of people genetically engineered by the alien Kree empire. It was a surprise years in the making, and one that ties into Marvel's big screen plans, with an Inhumans movie in the works for 2019.

When the show returns, Skye's newfound powers are a secret, and she's not even sure they are real herself. Bennet, Clark Gregg (Coulson) and executive producers Jeph Loeb and Jeffrey Bell revealed secrets of the upcoming midseason premiere during a set visit attended by

Here are five must-know tidbits they revealed.

When viewers pick up with Skye, she's reeling from the death of Trip (B.J. Britt), who died when an earthquake destroyed the hidden temple the pair were exploring. In the comics, Skye inspiration Daisy Johnson has the ability to harness the power of earthquakes, but Skye doesn't quite understand that power.

She also has a reason to potentially keep her powers a secret, because, "people who have powers, from SHIELD’s perspective, are put on the Index," said Bennet, referring to SHIELD's list of super-powered beings and objects. Being on the Index is something she'd like ot avoid.

2. Skye's Inhuman reveal will be controversial amongst the team.

Though It's unclear when the team will learn the truth about Skye, each member will react differently, with some reacting well and other reacting "in a bad way," said Bennet.

Coulson and Skye now have a Kree "connection," as Gregg calls it. Coulson's  onscreen death in

was remedied with the help of Kree blood (and some very painful procedures). As an Inhuman, Skye also has Kree blood running through her veins. But despite their close relationship, Skye is in quarantined in the midseason premiere.

"[Skye is] potentially a threat and connected to something bigger than we understand yet," said Gregg.

4. The rest of the season is an Inhumans origin story of sorts.

will take it's time exploring what being an Inhuman means to Skye, with the creative team noting it has the opportunity to tell an origin story over a much longer period than they would have if this were a superhero film.

"Instead of montaging Spider-Man on the subway having fun for about three minutes learning his powers, we can actually explore what it means to go through that," said Bell.

5. The introduction of more super powers is a bigger deal than it might seem.

Although the pages of Marvel comics are full of superpowers, Loeb points out the Marvel Cinematic Universe actually doesn't have that many powers floating around.

With Skye and a soon-to-be introduced Inhuman Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) having extraordinary abilities, they will be more likely to turn heads than they would in the comics. As Loeb pointed out, in the Avengers Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is a self-made hero, while Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) have no powers. Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) have super powers, while Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is considered an alien.  

"People will powers are very special," said Loeb. That makes the introduction of the Inhumans a game changer for the series.
