Buffy never dies in Angel. Buffy dies in the season five finale of her OWN show, entitled "The Gift." In the season 2 finale of Angel ("There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb"), Willow appears at the end for about five seconds, wherein she says absolutely nothing. Angel, instead, says it all for her in two words: "It's Buffy."
Angel is told of Buffy's death in the season two finale, and deals with it in the puwang between season two and three with a romp off in Sri Lanka, among other things.
He hears that Buffy is alive again four episodes into season three. Cordelia, on the phone with Willow, rushes in to give Angel the good news.
Sarah Michelle Gellar appears as Buffy in just two episodes of Angel (both in season one): "I Will Remember You" and "Sanctuary". Footage of her fighting was used in "The Bachelor Party," but she's not credited for the episode.
Buffy also died (for the first time) in the BtVS season one finale entitled "Prophesy Girl." She drowns, but is revived sa pamamagitan ng Xander. Angel was there, but could not resuscitate her on account of the fact that he doesn't breathe.
I hope that answered your question.

Angel was there, but could not resuscitate her on account of the fact that he doesn't breathe. ...did u see in season 5 of angel, where the sailor he made a vamp came back to find him...he was able to go under water and breathe to save those sailors on the submarine...

Actually, that's WHY they sent him underwater-- because he could not breathe. Same reason he survived when Connor threw him into the ocean. Similarly, the concept that Bampira don't breathe has been mentioned MANY times, most notably sa pamamagitan ng Darla when, in giving birth, she was reminded to keep breathing and she screamed "I DON'T BREATHE!"

Really sorry about that, it's a character flaw. Didn't mean to make you feel bad. I think the first time it's pointed out specifically is in Prophecy Girl, when Xander suggests CPR to save Buffy. Angel points out, "You have to do it. I have no breath."

excellent answer! u know your angel/buffy.. i find that angel was a bit madami seriuos than buffy, buffy seemed to be a little madami of a silly show...towards the end it got serious...there's 7 seasons of buffy right? anyway...keep the pag-ibig going. i honestly cant get enough of either shows!

Cinders, if you are sage enough to identify a character flaw, do something about it. A tanong can be answered in a kind way so that you don't look ...well, that word that is often used in kennels.
