What are the Warner's species?

Originally, during production of their show, they were modeled as ducks, but the creators felt there were too many ducks on telebisyon (for example, Ducktales), so these three zany guys became.... those mammalian creatures. What are they now?

Best Answer: Despite their dog-like attributes, the exact species they are supposed to be remains undefined. Their creator, Tom Ruegger, sinabi they were cartoon characters (or simply toons) and they were "Cartoonus Characterus".
