I don't understand the whole issue around changing the flag??

Explain anyone?

They think it should represent all the other cultures which have now migrated here.
Also, they believe that we shouldn't have the Union Jack any more on the flag, which I think is bloody bullshit! We were colonised by the British, and we are still apart of the commonwealth, so why get rid of it?!
Then the aboriginies think that there should be a representation of their culture on the flag aswell.
And then on top of all that, they say it would be worldwide news and great for tourism! We have enough bloody people in Australia already, we don't want more!!!

My opinion? LEAVE THE BLOODY FLAG ALONE!!!

I get that people might want the Aboriginal culture represented on the flag, but why bother changing it? It would be a huge hassle and completely pointless. Just leave it, it's fine. We've got more important issues to deal with.

I'm not sure. I mean it would be a huge hasstle to change it and like toyletgnome said, we've got more important things to deal with. Also it's been the flag for so long! Why should we change it now? Personally I think that origional is pretty much always best.

But I also really don't like the pattern and colours of the Australian flag... I don't know why, I just don't like it. But, I'm not sure if I'd want it changed. I dunno, I'm confusing myself. Does anyone get what I'm saying??

They should Change the aussie flag because:
1. our colours are NOT Red white and blue, they are green and gold
2. It has no Indigenous Culture in it (like the flag or something)
And 3. there is NOTHING to do with Australia on that flag except for the Southern Cross, and the rest is British.

I know that England WAS considered "the Mother country" but its not anymore, now we are in charge of ourselves and whether we want to fight in wars and help other countries or not. A lot of Aussies died In the World Wars, because we were being ordered around by the British. Yes, i know that we want to earn their trust so they will help us in the future, I know, but still, i don't think it was fair and because now we are an individual country and we can make our own decisions, i think its time to ditch the english spirit and show some Aussie Pride!

I agree with 'IluvsweenyTodd.' I like the fact that we are still tied to the British i i hope we are for a long time to come. If it wasn't for the British/English we wouldn't be here so be thankful to them.
