Okay, so one of the things i pag-ibig best about this ipakita was the way in which it had a subtle commentary on gender roles. I know, you may ask "so, what?" or "why is this important?" Well, I'll tell you.
Often, females are portrayed as supporting characters to the all-important male protagonist. Here, this is not the case. While i am indeed a guy, i like to see that screenwriters have progressive attitudes when it comes to gender roles. If you notice, Katara is the one who brings Aang along with her, not the other way around. Often, she plays the teacher and not the damsel in distress.
