I'm just really irritated that Su was gentle and understanding with him, but not Kuvira - who she said was like 'a daughter' to her. Baatar Jr. did the same things, and otherwise fully supported her methods until she turned the weapon (which he helped make) on him. He was against his family until that moment. He didn't second guess until that moment (aside from Opal nearly getting injured.) To have Kuvira punished and not him would be completely unjust.

Su told him that they'll get through it "as a family," but with Kuvira she practically poured salt in her wounds. She kicked her while she was down. Baatar Jr. is just as guilty - but Su will never see it that way because he's her son.

It's also irritating that Kuvira turned herself in and told them that she'll accept the consequences of her actions, only to have Su remind her seconds later that she'll "answer for everything that she's done." Even when Kuvira willingly turns herself in, it would never be enough - so Su says it again, and I just saw it as spitting in her face.

They both pretty much had the same final reaction to what they did, and yet Kuvira was treated more harshly...it's like no...just no.

I'm just glad she's not dead. Imma go make up my own ending now where Kuvira does her time and gets a nice second chance she uses to marry Bataar and re-build Republic City with them.

I completely agree with NightFrog, Baatar and Kuvira both did the same things.

This part irritated me so much. But it's typical of Bryke though...... whenever our heroes do anything terrible, it is waved off and seen as not a big deal. But when a villain does something that's pretty much the same thing..... they're EVIL.

Bataar Jr. is just as guilty, so should have to suffer the same punishment. Also, where the hell was Su answering for her crimes? SHE NEVER HAS. I found it beyond hypocritical of Su..... this only reinforces that Su is a huge asshole. -__- "She's like family" my ass.

He was her toyboy and her right-hand man. He knew what she was doing, he was complicit, and he should face the same consequences for his actions.

And I like Su, but...seriously, she was ready to forgive her blood after he'd denounced her, because he came back crying that he made a mistake when his ex-fiancée decides she loves her ambitions more than him. But the fosterling she claims to love like a daughter says "I surrender; do what you will to me" and literally holds her hands out for the cuffs? Su makes a point of "kicking the S.O.B.," as it were. Not cool, Su.

Not that Kuvira shouldn't answer for her actions. But so should Baatar.

That whole middle paragraph is pretty much how I feel about this mess.

Same. Like I agree that Kuvira (though I sympathize with her) needed consequence. But it drove me crazy that Baatar had a very strong role in what happened and should have had at least some sort of punishment.
