I would always make excuses like, "I hate tuna helper, but my mom gave it to me. Do you want it?" or "These clothes don't fit do you want them?" I didn't want them to feel bad. We also invite them over for dinner all the time.

I added it because my friend had this whole project that had to be done for next period or she would be in loads of trouble because it was already about two weeks late. So I basically volunteered to help out in anyway she wanted during lunch break and we got it finished. Gives you a great feeling, because she was really grateful!

I used to make a habit of going into downtown Los Angeles and asking the people on the street if they would rather have 10 bucks, or a hand up. Most took the 10 bucks, but one gal I will never forget took the hand up. I bought her all new clothes, paid an apartment for 3 months, and gave her a job. she ended up making manager inside 6 months. Best employee I ever had.

I think this is the most applicable option for me...I like to think I'm good at giving help with projects/work/papers... Sometimes I might not be as helpful as other times, but it's the motivation that counts, I believe.

My best mate is changing schools so I made her a scrap book and got everyone from our year who knows her to sign it (90 in total) and filled it with loads of pics and stories!! I am for sure a good friend with those who deserve it though..:) I try to make those around me as happy as possible, even before myself sometimes.. especially by appreciating every little thing :) I really dislike those who use other people though, and then they`ll throw them away like a piece of cloth!

i also once saved a tiny lamb from the chop through asking the farmer if i could have the baby lamb to keep as a pet, in return every week i would give him my horse's manure for his vegetables. i still have that lamb, she is now a young sheep.
