Severus Snape is a fictional character in the Harry Potter book series written sa pamamagitan ng J.K. Rowling. Heathcliff is a fictional character in the novel Wuthering Heights sa pamamagitan ng Emily Brontë. Owing to the novel's enduring fame and popularity, he is often regarded as an archetype of the tortured Romantic hero whose all-consuming passions destroy both himself and those around him.

Throughout the series, he is often portrayed as a bumbling, disorganised character and a rather mediocre student, though he is highly gifted at Herbology.
